Maine: The University of Maine is currently seeking applicants for our Summer 2015 Speed, Strength & Conditioning Internship Program. The summer program will run May 11th - July 31st. Must adhere to the rules of the NCAA, The University of Maine Intercollegiate Athletics Department, Colonial Athletic Association, America East Conference, and the Hockey East Conference. Required qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or a related field, CPR/AED certified, and a strong desire to become a Collegiate/Professional Speed Strength & Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications: Currently pursuing NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s) Compensation: This is a non-paid volunteer position. Individuals will gain experience in a Division I collegiate speed, strength & conditioning setting, as well as future recommendation for employment. North Texas: The University of North Texas - Department of Strength and Conditioning; Strength and Conditioning Mentorship Program. UNT is a proud member of Conference USA and is searching for aspiring strength and conditioning coaches to fill volunteer mentorship coaching positions available for the 2015 SUMMER semester (5/18 – 8/14). Prospective mentorship candidates will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of the North Texas Strength and Conditioning coaching staff, a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCCa) approved mentor, as well as gain in-valuable hands-on experience working with Division I athletes (Football and Olympic sports). Mentees will have the opportunity to participate in the UNT Strength and Conditioning Professional Development & Educational Curriculum. Please note, this is a voluntary position and there is no monetary compensation. Applicants should be committed to developing themselves as a strength and conditioning professional and devoted to working their way up in the strength and conditioning coaching profession. Wyoming: The University of Wyoming Sports Performance Department is now accepting applications for SUMMER 2015 VOLUNTEER INTERN positions (4). Application review will begin immediately. Job Description: Assist the sports performance staff in all day-to-day operations of the University of Wyoming weight rooms. Duties will include but are not limited to; assisting staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for Football and Olympic Sports, setup and breakdown of training equipment and assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Interns must also complete all requirements assigned through the intern education program. Qualifications: Pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s Degree in exercise science or a related field. Experience in a collegiate setting, and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Prospective interns must pass a background check to be eligible for the position. Certification or working towards certifications with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, and/or USAW. Compensation: This is an UNPAID POSITION. Class credit toward graduation requirements from your current institution, weekly structured education sessions, the opportunity to learn from five experienced strength and conditioning coaches, and the potential to earn future recommendations.
