UTEP: The University of Texas at El Paso is accepting applications for a graduate assistant strength & conditioning coach. Preferred Qualifications: CSCS or CSCCa, Bachelors Degree in related field, experience working in a team setting at the college level. Compensation will include tuition and a monthly stipend. New Hampshire: The University of New Hampshire’s Department of Strength & Conditioning is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill internship positions for the Summer & Fall 2016 semesters. This is a highly competitive internship with the goal of helping the department deliver the highest quality Strength & Conditioning product to its student – athletes. By participating in the internship, the candidate will gain knowledge and experience that will provide the young professional advancement for a career in Strength & Conditioning at a Division I institution. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting the full time staff with the supervision and execution of the training program for various sports, teaching proper exercise technique and equipment use, attending to daily maintenance of the training facility and daily administrative tasks. Early mornings along with evening hours should be expected throughout the internship and the applicant should be prepared to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per week during the internship. Qualifications: Currently pursuing a bachelors/master’s degree in Exercise/Physiology or related field and a strong desire to become a Strength and Conditioning coach. Applicants should be an enthusiastic, self-starter who is highly motivated to push athletes to excel. In addition, they should be responsible and punctual. Pursuing or holding a CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW certification(s) is strongly desired.***All potential interns will have the opportunity to obtain Practicum Hourly Requirements needed for the Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) from the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) by an approved mentor, Paul Chapman. Compensation: This is an UNPAID volunteer position, with the opportunity to earn limited income through various programs. Interns will gain valuable experience in a Division I university as well as possible recommendations for future career opportunities.
