ECU recently announced plans to expand the Southside of Dowdy-Ficklen stadium.
The video that the school released today touted some "big things being planned," and that should have the fan base excited heading into year one under Scottie Montgomery and his staff.
The updates that they're making around the stadium are both modern, and impressive and they all seemed to be aimed at improving the fan experience...which is what every athletic department strives to achieve with changes. The expansion will also bump their capacity to 60,000 strong as well as the addition off 1,000 premium seats, a field level club and Pirate level club, modern press level for additional media space, more functional space for student athletes.
Total cost for the project is about $55 million and the target date for completion is the fall of 2018, according to the official release from the school.
