Cincinnati coaches and players were able to get in on the ground floor of Schutt's new helmet cam vision being called "Schutt Vision" and the footage that they're capturing with it is helping players and coaches in ways that normal film sessions fall short.
For quarterbacks, running backs, linebackers, and players in the secondary, the vantage point is great for coaches to reinforce keys and eye discipline in the film room.
"From the Will position you could see where his eyes were, and you got his initial read, and that's where that first-person perspective that that brings to the table in invaluable," linebackers coach / co-defensive coordinator Jeff Koonz explains in the clip.
"The biggest thing that we're always battling is the speed of the game, and that learning curve and this will be a tremendous tool to keep our track record of guys coming in and having a change to play early."
An added advantage is that the helmet cams also gives die-hard fans a view of what players see, and the situations they process in real-time, which also holds a lot of value.
