The Tusculum College defense put together a performance last night that would make both Kirby Smart and Pat Narduzzi jealous.
Against The College of Faith, Tusculum allowed -100 yards of total offense, and -124 yards rushing, both of which are single game NCAA records. Tusculum also accumulated three safeties in the game, which tied a D-II record. Per play, the Pioneer defense allowed an impressive -2 yards per play, and -3.4 yards per rush.
Before last night the record for fewest yards allowed in a game was -69, set back in 1993 by Fort Valley State (D-II) against Miles. The record for fewest rushing yards allowed, and the record for safeties (3 in a game) were both set by Coast Guard (D-III) against Wesleyan back in 1989.
Take a look at the stat sheet, courtesy of Mark Schlabach. It looks like it came straight out of a video game, played on the easiest level...against a child who can barely hold onto the controller.
