Central Connecticut State: Central Connecticut State University is seeking applicants for the position of Sports Performance Intern for the Spring 2016 semester. Responsibilities: Successful candidates will assist in organizing and implementing movement assessments, dynamic warm-ups, speed and agility training, exercise technique progressions, strength training, and performance testing for all student athletes. Interns will also be responsible for weekly assignments and readings, collecting and interpreting testing data, the daily maintenance of equipment and facilities, and the development of instructional videos. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required or working towards the completion of; First Aid and CPR certified, CSCS certified or working towards CSCS or other certification, and Division 1 coaching experience. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. Compensation: Successful candidates will receive valuable hands-on experience coaching college athletics. Western Kentucky: Western Kentucky is looking for volunteer interns for the 2016 spring semester. This is an UNPAID position. DURATION: Jan. 11th, 2016 – April 29th, 2016. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under direction of the Assistant Director for Strength and Conditioning intern will assist staff with the implementation of strength & conditioning programs for Western Kentucky Football. Interns are expected to perform a variety of tasks that include: weight room/equipment up-keep and maintenance, pre-workout set-up, post-workout clean-up, supplement provision, research to enhance personal development and field related projects. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates need to have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, have current CPR/AED & First Aid certification and MUST be CSCCa or CSCS certified. Buffalo: The State University of New York at Buffalo Football Strength and Conditioning Staff is seeking highly motivated, hardworking candidates for a Football strength and conditioning internship for the Spring 2016. Duties will include assisting the strength and conditioning staff with all aspects of the athletic performance program as well as daily maintenance of weight room and facilities. This is an UNPAID position, living and transportation arrangements will NOT be provided. If chosen for this internship opportunity you will gain valuable experience, be educated on training philosophy, Olympic lifting modalities, and how to structure and execute a successful strength and conditioning program. Minimum qualifications: Strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should have or be working towards attaining their bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field and at least one of the following Certifications or in the process of acquiring these certifications: CSCS, SCCC. Preferred qualifications: Prior experience, Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree or enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s program, CSCS.
