Indiana State: Indiana State University is now accepting applications for the position of VOLUNTEER INTERN to contribute to the Strength and Conditioning program beginning January 11th 2016 for the Spring term. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES will include but are not limited to assisting in the successful implementation of the strength and conditioning department programs; set up and break down for daily activities, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and participation in the internship curriculum. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION will be provided, however, Interns will receive experience working in a Division 1 training environment and have the opportunity to earn recommendations for future career opportunities; including Mentorship through the CSCCa and working towards SCCC certification and/or receive college credit if applicable. The interns at Indiana State will have the opportunity to work with all 12 of our men’s and women’s athletic teams. As a staff we believe in providing our interns with the best instruction possible through weekly professional development sessions in order to enhance their strength and conditioning career opportunities along with earning professional recommendation. The level of ambition of the intern will determine the level of the learning experience. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a strong work-ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Interns are expected to be punctual, enthusiastic, reliable, productive and consistent along with having the ability to work early mornings and late evenings. Ideal candidates should be pursuing a Master’s degree, possess a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework earning an undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (NSCA, CSCS; CSCCa, SCCC; USAW) is preferred. CPR/First-Aid/AED certification required.
