Liberty (FCS): At Liberty, per source, Kettie Fickter will be promoted to director of player personnel (perhaps the only female in that role).
Eastern Kentucky (FCS): Per source, Liberty director of player personnel Charlie Skalaski III is joining the staff at EKU as associate head coach, receivers and recruiting coordinator.
Appalachian State: SI is reporting that South Florida tight ends / special teams coordinator Stu Holt is expected to join the App State staff. Earlier this month, App State running backs coach Chris Foster stepped down leaving a full-time opening on the staff. We can confirm the move.
West Texas A&M (D-II): Andrew Myers has accepted the defensive line grad assistant position, per source. Myers served as the defensive line coach at IMG Academy (FL) the past two seasons.
Houston: Defensive coordinator Todd Orlando will earn $501,000 a year over a two-year contract according to Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle. Duarte believes that makes Orlando the highest-paid Group of Five assistant.
NCAA: NCAA president Mark Emmert received $1.8 million of compensatoin in 2013 according to tax documents obtained by USA Today.
St. Olaf (D-III – MN): St. Olaf College has an immediate opening for an assistant coach (offense). The position is a stipend position with a potential for reduced housing. Master’s degree is preferred, college coaching experience with either offensive line or quarterback experience is preferred. Compensation will be based on experience. Responsibilities/requirements include, but are not limited to the following: coaching a position group, have an assigned local and national recruiting area, extensive knowledge in word, power point, and excel to create and analyze opponents in detailed scouting reports. Knowledge in FrontRush recruiting software, and extensive knowledge in video editing, uploading, adding breakdown information, as well as knowledge with Hudl coaching tools (Playbook/Practice Scripts). Maryland: Head coach Randy Edsall has agreed to a three-year extension through the 2019 season, the school has announced. The extension will be worth $7.5 million beginning in January of 2017 (with $500,000 of that guaranteed). Maryland would owe Edsall just $500,000 if terminated between January of 2017 and January of 2018. After a rough first few seasons, the Terps seem to have turned things around on the field the past two seasons.
McDaniel College (D-III - MD): McDaniel College seeks applicants for a part-time assistant coach. The position includes evening and weekend travel within the mid-Atlantic region for competition, recruiting and for training sessions. Bachelor’s Degree and successful playing, coaching and / or teaching experience is required. Experience at the intercollegiate level as a coach is preferred. A stipend and tuition benefits are provided.
