Colorado: The University of Colorado at Boulder, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Sports Performance Program is accepting applications for the 2016 Spring Semester Sports Performance Internship. Qualifications: Ideal candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Exercise Science, or related field of study. Must possess a strong work ethic, a willingness to be open to new ideas and possess a strong desire to enter the Sports Performance field, particularly at the collegiate level. Current certification, or working towards certification with the NSCA-CSCS or CSCCa. CSCCa mentorship program is available to those pursuing the SCCC certification. CPR certification/renewal can be attained during the internship. Preferred candidates will have experience in a team training setting, be able to lead groups large and small and be able to communicate effectively with a diverse group of student athletes. Intern will be assigned tasks, duties, readings and projects related to Sports Performance. Projects and assignments must be completed in a timely manner, with the utmost responsibility, care and professionalism. Successful candidates must possess and demonstrate a strong attention to detail. Compensation: This is an unpaid voluntary position. Candidates will have the opportunity to learn and gain experience at a highly competitive Division 1 Pac-12 institution. The curriculum is structured and designed to prepare candidates to advance a career in the Sports Performance field. Athletic apparel will be provided when available. UNC-Pembroke (D-II): The University of North Carolina at Pembroke Athletic Performance department is currently accepting applications for a highly motivated strength and conditioning intern for the spring 2016 semester. UNCP is a highly competitive Division II athletic department. Responsibilities: Assist with total training needs of all 16 varsity sports (including football), assist in maintenance of 2 athlete’s only weight rooms, completion of Athletic Performance curriculum. Qualifications: CPR/AED/First Aid Certified, strong work ethic, Punctuality -Desire to further one’s career in the strength and conditioning field. Selected applicants will be subject to a background check prior to acceptance into the internship program Preferred qualifications but not required: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field, SCCC, CSCS, USAW certifications, previous coaching experience. Compensation: No monetary compensation is provided, possible meal plan, advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, college credit if applicable.
