Week 5 was a good week.... to go against the FootballScoop staff picks. We went 1-for-3 as a group, whiffing on Louisville -21.5 vs. Wake Forest (seriously Bobby, how you gonna do us like that?) and Auburn -32 vs. Louisiana Tech, but Doug nailed TCU -31.5 vs. SMU.
Zach: It wasn't a good week for my "Vegas doesn't set blowout lines high enough" theory. Not only did I miss on Auburn -32 vs. Louisiana Tech, my "picks I'll wish I made if this one goes bad" section went 0-for-3 as well: Louisville -21.5 vs. Wake Forest, Baylor -21 at Iowa State and Wisconsin -34 vs. South Florida.
It's time to retrench and start anew.
Just kidding. I'm going the other way and doubling down. There's no way SMU stays within 41 of East Carolina.

Doug: Northwestern did a good job defending Penn State's ground attack, limiting the Nittany Lions to 50 rushing yards on 25 attempts. Penn State, though, isn't Wisconsin. I don't think 7.5 points are enough for Northwestern to stay with Wisconsin.

Scott: I think Baylor is a very good team. Conversely, Texas, at this time, simply is not. Art Briles will leave the field Saturday evening feeling good, believing he made the right decision to turn Texas down. I like Baylor giving the 14.5.
