Campbell University: Campbell University’s Strength and Conditioning Department is currently seeking 1-2 qualified intern candidates for 2016 Fall semester. Internship will begin August 29, 2016 and conclude on December 9, 2016. This is an unpaid position. No monetary compensation will be provided. Accepted applicants will be eligible to apply completed hours during the internship towards CSCCa practicum requirements and/or undergraduate/graduate internship requirements, in addition to gaining a recommendation for future employment. Intern responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to the following: 1.) Assisting with the supervision of athletes and implementation of training programs for various sports, 2.) Setting up and breaking down of equipment for training sessions, 3.) Assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities, 4.) Active participation in projects and assignments throughout the duration of the internship, 5.) Any other duties assigned by the Strength and Conditioning staff. Applicants must be certified or working towards certification with the CSCCa (SCCC) or the NSCA (CSCS) and have current CPR/AED certification. Candidates must possess a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Millersville (D-II - PA): Millersville University is currently seeking qualified volunteer / internship candidates for the fall 2016 semester. This is an unpaid position. The fall strength and conditioning program will run from September 5 th until December 18th (dates are flexible). Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program of the football team and potentially other University athletic programs, teaching student athletes safe and proper exercise technique, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities and professional development throughout the internship. This internship will provide hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Minimum Qualifications: Strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm, Effective communication skills, Desire to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. Preferred Qualifications: Pursuing or have attained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology or related field, Previous coaching experience in a collegiate setting or competitive collegiate involvement, Pursuing or have attained the SCCC, CSCS, USAW, FMS or other similar certifications, CPR & AED certified. Wayne State College (D-II - NE): Wayne State College (D2 Nebraska) is seeking applicants for a part-time assistant strength and conditioning coach for the fall with possible renewal for the spring semester. Compensation is $2,500 per semester. This person will be considered the lead assistant and may be responsible for programming for 1-2 teams. Additional responsibilities include: Assisting with daily Strength and Conditioning operations; Assisting with program implementation for all sports including football, overseeing team warm ups, speed, agility and conditioning sessions, maintaining the Strength and Conditioning Facility, and overseeing athlete nutrition; other responsibilities as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Must have a strong work ethic and strong desire to learn and excel in the field of Strength and Conditioning. Job Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in an associated field of Study. SCCC, CSCS or USAW certification required. Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification is required. Candidates will be screened immediately; the start date is August 29th. East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State University Football Strength & Conditioning is looking for two hard working, enthusiastic volunteer interns who are confident, have a presence and be able to coach Division 1 Football Student-Athletes for the Summer 2016. The two people chosen for this position must be able to start August 29 th 2016 and end December 10 th 2016. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning throughout the country. Interns will be expected to perform tasks including; pre-workout set up, post-workout clean up, monitor for correct exercise technique, research assignments to enhance personal development as assigned, weekly athlete weigh-ins, extra athlete workouts. Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the C.S.C.C.A. or the N.S.C.A. A CSCCa 640-Hour Mentorship can be completed during this internship. Successful candidates should have competed in a varsity sport at the High School or Collegiate level to have a better understanding of what it takes to compete and train as an athlete. Each candidate should have extensive knowledge of teaching and coaching strength and conditioning exercises and Speed and Agility Drills.
