Tennessee: A number of assistants have received pay bumps. Linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen will make $505,000 (up from the $405,000 he made in 2015), running backs coach Robert Gillespie will make $480,000 (he made $355,000 last season), and offensive coordinator Mike DeBord will make $580,000 (up from $505,000 in 2015. Defensive coordinator Bob Shoop is the highest paid Vols assistant at $1.15 million annually.

Marshall: Graham Hobbs, who spent last season in a quality control role at FIU and who recently joined the Elizabeth City State (D-II - NC) as quarterbacks coach, has accepted an offensive quality control role at Marshall, per source.

Minnesota-Morris (D-II): Minnesota-Morris has hired Kyle Nelson, a former student assistant at Alabama to coach the defensive backs, and Danny Garrigan, a former Minnesota-Morris player, will coach the receivers.

Oklahoma Baptist (D-II): Brennan Marion has accepted the running backs / player development job at Oklahoma Baptist. Marion will also serve as director of offensive recruiting.

Alabama: Denzel Devall, who wrapped up his career as a player last year, has joined the staff as a personnel assistant.

Scoop him up:Jamie Schumaker was slated to be an assistant coach for the Newcastle Miners of the National Gridiron League in Australia before the league announced that it would be folding for the 2016 season. Now, Schumaker joins a list of a number of coaches looking for a coaching job this fall. Schumaker has worked as a high school offensive consultant for West Allegheny HS (PA), a defensive line coach for Geneva College (D-III - PA), and the running backs coach at Frostburg State (D-III - MD) and Thiel College (D-III - PA). Among the guys that Schumaker has built relationships with in the profession are Bob Palko, Tom Rogish, Gene DeMarco, Gabe Luvara, Tony Jennison, Jason Vrable, Kyle Smesko, and Jeremy Overfelt. Michigan: Former Gilman HS (MD) head coach Biff Poggi's role at Michigan will be associate head coach / special adviser, according to a report from the Baltimore Sun. Poggi, who has been an assistant at Brown, The Citadel, and Temple was first rumored to be joining Jim Harbaugh's staff back in February.

Kansas City Chiefs: Samie Parker, a former wide receiver coach at Fort Valley State (D-II - GA), has accepted a Bill Walsh Minority Fellowship position with the Chiefs.

Penn State: Per source, Iowa Western CC (JC) defensive line coach Will Flaherty has accepted a recruiting position on the Penn State staff.

Greensboro (D-III - NC): Luke Bengston, who previously worked at Arkansas in a quality control role and at UConn as a graduate assistant, has joined the Greensboro College staff as quarterbacks coach / recruiting coordinator.

Elizabeth City State (D-II - NC): Chris Holmes is the new offensive line coach for the program after spending the last two seasons as running backs coach / video coordinator at Mississippi Valley State (FCS).

Feather River (JC - CA): Ny'lka B. Long is the new defensive coordinator at Feather River sources tell FootballScoop. Long formerly coached at Scottsdale Community College (JC - AZ).
