BYU: Per source, head strength coach Jay Omer plans to retire at the end of the year.

Ohio State: The Ohio State University Football strength and conditioning department is accepting applications for volunteer intern coaches to contribute to the football sports performance program during the Spring 2015 The successful candidate must have a great attitude, give relentless effort, and posses a deep desire to become an effective strength and conditioning coach. Qualified candidates will serve the Football program as a non-counted coach with the opportunity to participate in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. There is NO monetary compensation for this position. However, candidates will receive Division I Intercollegiate experience, college credit towards graduation if applicable and be involved in the CSCCa mentorship program necessary to achieve the SCCC certification. Preferred qualifications: SCCC or CSCS certified, CPR/AED certified and a bachelor’s degree in a program geared towards strength and conditioning. The anticipated start date will be January 2015. Tennessee: The University of Tennessee Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for (2) paid strength and conditioning internship positions for Spring 2015. All applicants must be highly motivated individuals with a strong work ethic that want to pursue a career in collegiate strength and conditioning. This internship will provide the opportunity to gain experience in coaching, motivating athletes, and program design by working hands on in a Division 1 College Program. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to assisting with the supervision and training of student-athletes of assigned teams while also assisting with assigned duties. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Qualified candidates preferably have strength and conditioning experience in the collegiate setting and are certified or seeking certification through the NSCA or CSCCa. The planned start date will be January 12th will continue till the end of July. Gardner-Webb: Gardner-Webb University is seeking a Graduate Assistant strength and conditioning coach. Applicant must possess a strong knowledge of teaching technique of Olympic-style lifting exercises. Introduce and teach the objectives of each training phase to student-athletes. Duties will include assisting with the day to day Football program as well as covering assigned Olympic sports by the Director. Requirements: Bachelor's degree required; In a related field preferred. Certified by CSCS, CSCCa, or in the process of sitting for the exam. Houston: The University of Houston Sports Performance Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Spring Semester of 2014. These are unpaid positions. Daily responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, assistance in the supervision of the University of Houston Sports Performance team set up and breakdown for daily strength and conditioning activities, routine maintenance, cleaning, and organization of the training facility. Characteristics desired of an intern include great work ethic, strong desire to enhance knowledge of strength and conditioning, attention to detail, punctuality, and accountability.
