North Dakota State: North Dakota State University’s Strength and Conditioning department is seeking candidates for paid Football Strength Conditioning Internships for the Spring of 2016. This position will begin in January, or sooner if a candidate is available, and conclude at the end of the school year in May. The intent of the internship is to provide a semester’s worth of hands-on training to gain a thorough knowledge of NDSU’s strength & conditioning program thus making them a viable candidate for a GA position. Duties will include assisting the Director of Strength & Conditioning for Football with all aspects of the football strength and conditioning program as well as daily maintenance of the weight room, nutrition area and other responsibilities as assigned. Hours will vary throughout the semester and may include early morning, late afternoon, or weekend hours. Requirements: Must have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning, possess an excellent work ethic and have the ability to take initiative and be pro-active. Previous weight room or athletic coaching experience preferred. Minimum GPA: 3.0 Compensation: $750 a month. Missouri: The University Of Missouri Department Of Athletic Performance is now accepting applications for the position of Volunteer Intern. There is no monetary compensation provided, however, the aforementioned internship is a learning opportunity that qualifies as practical experience toward the 9 months or 640 hours required toward SCCC certification with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association as well as theoretical and practical experience that can be applied to CSCS certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assistance of supervision for daily activities, set up and break down for daily activities, routine maintenance, weekly educational projects and reports, and assistance with execution of workout design and implementation for various sports. All prospective interns are expected to have an interest in advancing in a career in athletic performance. Prospects should have outstanding work ethic, energy, enthusiasm and attention to detail. Individuals chosen for this position are subject to university background checks and will possess or be in the process of obtaining CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
