Southern University and A&M: Southern University and A&M is accepting applications for volunteer Strength & Conditioning interns for the 2016 Spring Semester. Southern is a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Applicants must be currently pursuing a degree related to exercise science and must be working toward NSCA or CSCCA certification. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of 13 Division I intercollegiate athletic programs; assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties; and professional development throughout the internship program. Qualifications include a strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to further one’s career in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Preferred qualifications include: SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certifications; CPR/AED certification and previous coaching experience. Selected applicants will receive experience working with a wide variety of collegiate athletes, an advanced understanding of program design, and the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities.
