UAB: Per Zack White, former Jacksonville State linebacker Robert Gray has joined the staff. We understand that nearly all roles on the coaching staff are in the process of being filled on staff and it's just a matter of paperwork being finished up to complete the hires. Will update as things become official. As we told you last night, one of those positions is offensive coordinator, where Bill Clark intends to hire Les Koenning.
NFL: Tod Leiweke of the Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL) has resigned to become the Chief Operation Officer for the NFL.
Jacksonville University (FCS - FL): Per source, defensive line coach Ernie Logan is heading to IMG (FL) as the defensive line coach. Any inquiries about the defensive line position should be addressed to Jerry Odom at jodom2@ju.edu.
Thomas Moore (D-III - KY): Thomas More College has two intern positions open with an immediate start date. The first position is with the offense preferably offensive line. Duties include: breakdown opponent film, assist the offensive line coach in daily drills, Offensive Coordinator for the JV football team, be responsible for their own recruiting area and other duties given by the offensive coordinator and/or head coach. The second position is on the defensive side of the ball, which preference given to the linebacker position. Both positions must have bachelor’s degree. Positions include stipend for the year, room and board. No grad school available. Wayne State College (D-II - NE): Wayne State College has an immediate opening for two defensive graduate assistant coaches. The graduate assistants primary coaching responsibilities will be defensive backs and defensive line. Previous experience is preferred. Applicants must qualify for the State of Nebraska defensive driving certificate. Graduate Assistantships are granted based on acceptance into Graduate School at Wayne State College. This is a 10 month reporting position with a $500.00 stipend per month ($5000.00 total) and tuition waiver for the academic year. Please e-mail materials to damclau1@wsc.edu if interested. Kentucky Christian (NAIA): Kentucky Christian University has an immediate opening for a linebacker coach; housing, meals and competitive stipend available. Please email HFC Steve Barrows at sdbarrows@kcu.edu ASAP. Must be proficient at coaching the linebackers!
Henderson State (D-II - AR): Per source, wide receivers coach /strength and conditioning coordinator Robert Espinoza has left the staff and taken a high school coaching job at Pasadena Memorial HS (TX).
Lindenwood-Belleville (D-II): Dale Carlson, the former head coach at Valparaiso (FCS) and Ohio Dominican (D-II), has been announced as the new head coach.
North Carolina A&T: Thomas Howard has been hired to coach the inside linebackers. Howard previously coached the linebackers and special teams at the University of Findlay (D-II - OH).
South Florida: Assistant head coach / linebackers coach Raymond Woodie has added the title of special teams coordinator.
Chadron State (D-II - NE): Bruce Carpenter has been hired to coach the wide receivers, per source. Carpenter spent last season as the offensive coordinator at the University of Montana Western.
