Kennesaw State: The Kennesaw State University OLYMPIC Sport Performance is looking for a highly motivated individual to fill one (1) of two (2) VOLUNTEER Assistant positions for the FALL 2016 semester to begin on August 15, 2016. Kennesaw State University Olympic Sports compete at the Division 1 level in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Qualifications: Individuals applying must be willing to work 40+ hours per week, possess or working towards one of the major certifications (USAW, CSCS, SCCC), graduated with or in their last semester of undergraduate studies in exercise physiology or related field, willing to complete the full internship experience with adherence to standards of the Kennesaw State University Sport Performance Department, Kennesaw State University Athletics Association, and Kennesaw State University. This internship experience has a thorough educational experience that individuals will complete and present to staff members at biweekly roundtable discussions. Compensation: although no monetary compensation is offered, individuals will receive Division I Olympic Sports experience, further knowledge of the field, educational advancement, course credit if needed, and the possibility for future references. Green Bay Phoenix: Green Bay Phoenix Athletics: Prevea Health is currently accepting applications for the position of Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. This is a 12 month, 1.0 FTE position assigned to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, a Division One institution. RESPONSIBILITIES: Working in conjunction with the Director of Strength & Conditioning, design and oversee the administration of the strength & conditioning program for Men’s Basketball and additional assigned teams. Adhere to program philosophies, methods, and goals. Collaborate with coaches and sports medicine staff on the overall injury prevention, training, conditioning, rehabilitation, and welfare of student athletes. Attend team meetings, events, and community outreach initiatives as necessary. Assist the Kress Events Center staff with facility management, equipment maintenance, and overseeing general activities pertaining to student athletes in the facility. REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree in health/fitness, sport science, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 3 years of experience and history of proven success in an intercollegiate or professional strength and conditioning program; basketball strength and conditioning experience is desirable. Experience with Olympic style lifting, plyometric training and speed development required. Knowledge of NCAA rules and safe strength and conditioning practices; this includes, but is not limited to, teaching methods, exercise demonstration, spotting techniques, and general safety measures. Successful completion of one of the following certification examinations: CSCS or SCCC. Must hold current CPR and/or first aid certification. Ability to work with a diverse population and provide a supportive and motivating environment for student athletes. Ability to interact effectively with student athletes, coaches, sports medicine staff, administrators, and the public. New Mexico: The University of New Mexico Athletic Performance department are accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Interns for Football spotters for the summer 2016 semester (June 1st- July 29th). This is a highly competitive and demanding internship. Compensation: Division I experience, earned recommendation for future career opportunities, and college credit toward graduation if applicable. No monetary compensation will be provided. Qualifications: Minimum requirements: Strong work ethic, Highly motivated; Must be in a Bachelor’s degree program geared toward Exercise Physiology or a related field; CPR/AED certification; Experience as a college athlete or in a college strength and conditioning setting. Robert Morris (FCS - PA): The Robert Morris University Strength and Conditioning Staff is seeking highly motivated, hardworking candidates for a strength and conditioning internship for the Summer 2016 term. Duties will include assisting the strength and conditioning staff with all aspects of the athletic performance program as well as daily maintenance of weight room and facilities. This is an unpaid position. If chosen for this internship opportunity, you will gain valuable experience, be educated on training philosophy, Olympic lifts, and how to structure and execute a successful strength and conditioning program. Qualifications include: strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should have, or be working towards attaining their bachelor’s degree in a related field. USC: University of Southern California Department of Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for Summer 2016 internship. Intern responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision of training programs, assisting with daily set up and maintenance and completion of various educational assignments during the internship. Intern qualifications include: strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm desire to further one’s career in the strength and conditioning field and ability to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: senior status or completion of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification and CPR certification. This is an unpaid internship. Interns will receive experience working in a PAC 12 training environment, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.
