I don't have the data to prove this, but it's my sincere belief that more children follow their parents into coaching than any other line of work. I can't tell you how many people are in the insurance sales business because their mom or dad did it, but I'm betting it's not as many as those who get into coaching for the same reason.
Spend more than two seconds around a football program and it's easy to see why so many sons follow their fathers into the coaching business. The walls between family and work aren't just low, they're practically non-existent. When work bleeds into your family life so much, family life also bleeds into work.
