Fletcher Cox is one of the best players in the NFL.... when he plays hard. When he doesn't, Cox is like anyone else -- just a body to be moved out of the way.
The New Orleans Saints' coaching staff discovered that the Philadelphia Eagles' star defensive tackle took for granted that when he lined up in the Eagles' safe punt return, the punt would actually happen. So, while most teams would audible out of their fake punt when the opponent kept their defense on the field, the Saints wanted Cox and the rest of the defense out there.
This fake punt, on a 4th-and-1 at their own 30, allowed the Saints to keep a pivotal drive alive. New Orleans would eventually score on a 12-play, 79-yard march, cutting their deficit to 14-7 in an eventual 20-14 win.
