Texas A&M: Texas A&M Sports Performance Department is accepting applications for a volunteer football intern for Winter/Spring 2017. This position offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include: assist the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in the supervision and training of Texas A&M’s Division I football program; assist with daily administrative, cleaning and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; spotting athletes and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Minimum Qualifications: must have a strong work-ethic, enthusiasm and a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW and CPR –First Aid certification. Pepperdine: The Pepperdine Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking applicants for the 2017 Summer Internship Program. After candidate selection, interns will be responsible for weekly presentations to the full-time staff and weekly reading/research assignments. Interns will sit in on weekly staff presentations and participate in hands-on sessions directed by the strength staff. The subject matter includes weekly discussions and projects over assessing your athletes and pre-session readiness, understanding different models and methods of periodization and programming, resistance training variables, movement classification and selection, Olympic lifting, energy system development, power training, linear speed development, and other various topics. Responsibilities for the internship also include session set-up and breakdown, cleaning and upkeep of facility, spotting and working with specified student-athletes and/or small groups. You must be able to commit 20 hours per week throughout the semester to qualify. Our goal is to have interns advance in the field of strength and conditioning after completing our internship. Interns have completed our internship and transitioned over to other collegiate internships, accepted graduate assistant positions, as well as taken full-time jobs in the field. Villanova: Per source, Brian Tracz has accepted a position as head strength and conditioning coach for football. Previously, Tracz was an assistant athletic director for athlete performance at Wagner.
BYU: Brigham Young University Olympic Strength and Conditioning department has an assistant strength and conditioning job open. The Strength and Conditioning Coach will coordinate the strength and conditioning program for teams assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Duties include but are not limited to: design and implement strength and conditioning programs, regular testing the athletes to determine the effectiveness of the programs, maintain accurate records of athlete’s progress, and assist with the scheduling and daily upkeep of the strength and conditioning facility. Dartmouth: Dartmouth College is seeking VOLUNTEER interns for Spring 2017. This internship will go from March 27th-June. These individuals will gain valuable experience at the college level as well as credit approved by their institution. The internship will involve assisting in: the supervision of training sessions, different training methods, nutrition, learning/executing exercise technique, daily maintenance of equipment, and educational research. Qualifications: Must be working toward certification and exhibit a strong desire to be a strength and conditioning coach.
