Colorado: The University of Colorado Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for internship positions for the Summer 2019 Semester (May-August). These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University of Colorado Football team, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Postgraduate applicants are also required to hold a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA) and all undergraduate applicants should be working towards their certification. Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. New Haven: The University of New Haven Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking qualified applicants for a Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: design and implementation of sport specific strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams; demonstration and instruction of Olympic weightlifting techniques; supervise team workouts, individual workouts, and open hours; assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Qualifications: (Required) - Bachelor’s degree (Preferred) - CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification or working towards; CPR and First Aid certifications; previous strength and conditioning experience in a collegiate setting; experience in designing and implementing workout programs. Howard: Howard University Strength & Conditioning is seeking applicants who are highly motivated and passionate about strength and conditioning to fill four (4) available unpaid internships positions for the Summer of 2019. Start date is negotiable, and can be for the start of Summer session 1 (May 20th) or 2 (prior to June 24th). Applicants must be seeking to become a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach or already certified through the NSCA or CSCCA. This internship will not just be a protein shake stocking and bench wiping experience, there is plenty of opportunity for coaching experience to be earned. You will be getting hands on coaching experience at America’s top Division 1 HBCU. Assumption (D-II – MA): The Sports Performance Department at Assumption College is searching for 2-3 candidates for the position of Strength and Conditioning Intern during the 2019 Fall Semester. Assumption College is a member of the Division II Northeast-10 (NE-10). Accepted candidates will have the opportunity to work with all 24 sport teams. Candidates will be expected to assist and potentially lead groups during training sessions. This position is perfect for an individual looking to break into the college strength and conditioning scene! Candidates for the Strength and Conditioning Coach Internship, can qualify for college credit. Interns will be treated as assistants, and have hands on coaching training, and could run small groups if proven to be trustworthy by the Sports Performance Staff. Candidates must show outstanding work ethic, the willingness to learn, outgoing personality, and attention to detail. This position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfillment of credit hours toward a program degree (Internship Position). Georgia State: Georgia State University Men’s Basketball Strength and Conditioning is currently looking for volunteer / unpaid interns for the summer of 2019.
