East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State University Football Strength & Conditioning is looking for TWO hard working, enthusiastic volunteer interns who can communicate, are confident, mentally tough, and can have a presence with coaching Division 1 Football Student-Athletes for the Summer 2019 Semester. The individuals chosen for this position must be able to begin May 24th and work through August 2nd. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning field throughout the country. Exceptional individuals may have the opportunity to work themselves into opening graduate assistant positions within the program for January 2020. Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, and have a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the CSCCa or the NSCA. A CSCCa 640-Hour Mentorship can be completed during this internship. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the Strength and Conditioning staff. Candidates should have competed in a varsity sport at the High School or Collegiate level to have a better understanding of what it takes to compete and train as an athlete. Southwestern Oklahoma State: Southwestern Oklahoma State, a member of NCAA Division II and the Great American Conference located in Weatherford, OK, is currently accepting applications for Head Strength & Conditioning. The position under limited supervision, supervises weight room, provides expertise, guidance and training in the area of strength and conditioning for all student athletes and sport teams at Southwestern Oklahoma State. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for compliance of university policies and procedures and state or federal mandates for responsible areas. The coach shall promote the SWOSU environment of celebrating diversity in all forms. These tasks are to be performed in a matter that professionally, cordially and efficiently assist the students, faculty, staff and visitors who come in contact with SWOSU. Bachelor’s degree in Strength Training or related field is required. Minimum of two years strength training experience required with a preference in experience at the collegiate level.
