Michigan:The University of Michigan Football Strength and Conditioning Program is currently seeking applicants for (2) PAID internship positions for SUMMER 2019. The internship begins May 22nd and will go through July 31st, with the possibility of staying on for the 2019 season. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in regards to working within a Division I strength and conditioning setting as well as earned recommendation for future career opportunities. Position responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: setting up and breaking down of training sessions, assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities, organizing the nutrition/fueling station, data collection, assisting with GPS Catapult systems, as well as other assigned duties. MINIMUM qualifications: possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and an unwavering desire to become a strength and conditioning professional; must hold current CPR, AED, and FIRST AID certifications. PREFERRED qualifications: Must have completed or are currently working toward completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science /or a related course of study; possess or be working towards certification through the CSCCa, NSCA, and/or USAW; one year of previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletics experience. Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan Sports Performance is seeking highly motivated people to fill the Summer 2019 internship positions working with all 17 NCAA Division 1 sports teams. This internship will start May 13th, 2019 thru July 26th 2019. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. The candidate must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field and MUST be CPR and First Aid certified. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting staff in the design and implementation of strength programs including set up and breakdown of training equipment; as well as assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, and ongoing professional development through the internship curriculum. Preferred Qualifications: Intense work ethic, and highly motivated. Experience working in a Strength or Sports Performance environment; currently hold or working towards a nationally- accredited strength and conditioning certification (SCCC or CSCS) PLEASE NOTE: These are non-paid volunteer position. Winthrop (SC):Winthrop University Sports Performance Department-Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for Volunteer Internship positions, during the Fall Semester. Responsibilities include assisting the Strength Staff in all aspects of developing and implementing strength, speed/agility, conditioning, flexibility, mobility, and recovery protocols for the Winthrop Athletic Program. Additional responsibilities will be to provide; daily weight room supervision, daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment, assist with and conduct performance and strength testing, completion of internship curriculum, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Applicants must have a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should be enrolled in or have completed a degree in an Exercise Science or related field. Candidate must be certified in CPR/AED. Preferred qualifications: have a certification in either NSCA or CSCCa, previous experience in an intercollegiate strength and conditioning program. Position: This is a non-paid internship position. Indiana State: Indiana State University is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach beginning August 2019. Responsibilities will include: Assisting with Football and leading 2-3 Olympic sports, management of the Sycamore Fueling Station, collaboration with athletic training/sports medicine personnel, involvement with intern development and other duties assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Applicants should have completed a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or a related field, be certified by either the CSCCa (SCCC) or NSCA (CSCS), have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), have excellent written/verbal communication skills and be serious about pursuing a career in collegiate strength and conditioning. Candidates must be accepted into the Indiana State University Graduate School.
