Buffalo: The University at Buffalo football strength and conditioning department is looking for one (1) Summer 2018 intern to fill the 5th coaching spot. This position will be UNPAID. The potential candidate MUST be certified through the NSCA (CSCS) or SCCC (CSCCA) in order to be considered. The successful candidates will assist with all daily duties as it pertains to Buffalo Football Strength and Conditioning including but not limited to: assisting with coaching, data tracking, data entry, fueling station management, and any other duties as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning, Lewis Caralla. This position offers the opportunity to learn under an approved CSCCA mentor. The expected start date (in Buffalo, NY) will tentatively be the last week of May, 2018. McNeese State: The McNeese State University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant (GA). McNeese State University is a NCAA Division I University located in Lake Charles, LA. This position provides tuition remission for up to 9 graduate classes per year as well as a $6000 stipend for a full-year contract (fall, spring, and summer terms). You must be accepted into the McNeese State Graduate School prior to employment. The position is subject to a university background check. Intended start date is June 6th, 2018. Responsibilities: All aspects of the strength and conditioning programs, including programming and implementation, for 1-3 different sports; opportunity to assist with training Football. Successful applicants should possess the ability to effectively teach and execute proper technique of lifts (including Olympic variations) and drills. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, or related field is required. Have already obtained certification from NSCA (CSCS) or CSCCa. Possess CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Georgia: The University of Georgia Olympic Strength and Conditioning department is currently accepting applications for 2018 Fall Interns. Internship Start Date: Monday, August 6th. This is a Volunteer, Unpaid position. CPR/AED Certification will be REQUIRED before the start date of the position. Applicants should have an educational background in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field. Applicants should be certified or interested in obtaining one of the following certifications: CSCS, SCCC, USAW. Individuals who apply should have a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning coach. Daily responsibilities will consist of aiding the strength and conditioning staff with the evaluation of student athletes, assisting in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs, performing proper lifting techniques, motivating athletes, and cleaning/maintaining the strength and conditioning facility. Fairleigh Dickinson: Fairleigh Dickinson University located in Teaneck, NJ has an extremely exciting opportunity as a graduate assistant strength & conditioning coach. Responsibilities include being the primary strength & conditioning coach for 2-3 teams and the secondary coach for 1-2 teams. This individual will be expected to offer new ideas and challenge current ones. The strength & conditioning department at Fairleigh Dickinson University is made up of extremely passionate coaches and hope the addition of this new staff member will elevate our program. Fairleigh Dickinson University has 19 division one programs that compete in the Northeast Conference. The graduate assistant will enroll in the masters of sports administration program. There is no stipend with this position, only full tuition re-reimbursement. Millsaps (D-III - MS): Millsaps College’s Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for a FULL TIME Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach starting August of 2018. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working with multiple sports; preferably experience with Volleyball, Basketball, and/or Baseball. William Penn University: William Penn is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Athletic Performance coach. This is a 12 month position starting June 4th with a two year commitment. Full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend are included. Candidates must be admissible to the graduate program with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Responsibilities include assisting with the design and implementation for a variety of William Penn University’s collegiate sports. The qualified candidate will be assigned sports based on his/her background and experience. This will include programming and coaching opportunities at BOTH the collegiate and high school levels. The position will also assist the Head Athletic Performance coach, help with maintenance of the Randleman Fitness Center, and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Performance coach. Proven knowledge and experience with sport specific strength, speed, and agility programs is necessary. A HIGH PRIORITY IS GIVEN TO THOSE WHO PLACE AN IMPORTANCE ON GAINING EXPERIENCE IN BOTH PROGRAMMING AND HANDS-ON COACHING! Candidates must hold a BA/BS in exercise science or a health related field and be working toward certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength & Conditioning Association, SCCC through the CSCCa, and/or hold a USAW-Sports Performance Certificate. Candidates must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA within their undergraduate field of study. Candidates with an athletic background or experience (volunteer/intern) in a collegiate strength and conditioning program is preferred Candidates must possess strong communication skills and have the ability to effectively work with student athletes, the sports medicine staff, administrators and sport coaches. Candidates must possess proficiency in technology and/or capability of learning how to utilize it. MOST IMPORTANTLY – have a desire and work ethic that shows a want to learn and grow to be better in the field while also being a great teammate on a staff that requires great comradery.
