Mercer: Mercer University Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking applicants who are highly motivated to fill internship positions for the Summer of 2019 starting the week of May 20th, 2019 and going through July 24th, 2019. This is an UNPAID, volunteer position. Interns will also have the chance to earn additional responsibilities. Academic credits can be applied towards an Exercise Science or related Undergraduate or Graduate program if necessary. With education through experience being our main goal, interns will be provided and challenged with the key qualities of success in the Strength and Conditioning field. This includes professional development and continuing education, daily opportunities to learn and grow as a leader, expansion of network connections, teaching student athletes’ proper lifting technique, and daily weight room maintenance. While working with ALL Division I athletic programs, interns will gain practical coaching experience in accordance with the philosophy of the department and can begin to lay the groundwork for future opportunities with a consideration and recommendation for future employment. Qualifications include: strong work ethic, attention to detail, enthusiasm, effective communication skills, positive energy, willingness to work, Bachelor’s degree or a degree in process, hold certification(s) and/or seeking to get certified in at least one of the major certifications below. Preferences (but not limited to): CPR/AED/First Aid Certified, CSCS, SCCC, USAW. Submit letter of application, resume, and at least three professional to Jeff Ward, Director for Strength and Conditioning at ward_ja@mercer.edu.

Kentucky Christian: Kentucky Christian University's Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for 1-2 Strength and Conditioning Intern Coaches for the Fall Semester of 2019. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for Football and all Olympic Sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities. Candidates will have the opportunity to program, implement, and supervise a strength and conditioning program for some assigned sports. HOUSING AND MEALS WILL BE PROVIDED. No monetary compensation will be provided. However, there will be opportunity to advance within the department. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework for an undergraduate degree in exercise science or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW) are preferred. Official start date will be August 1st. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE): SIUE Athletic Performance is seeking highly motivated, hardworking candidates for an Athletic Performance internship opportunity for the Summer 2019 semester, start date is June 3rd . This is an unpaid position; however, you will receive Division 1 experience with highly competitive programs that compete in the MAC and Ohio Valley Conference. For more details click the link. South Carolina: The University of South Carolina is currently accepting applications for Summer 2019 internship positions. The University of South Carolina is looking for up and coming coaches who exemplify a strong work ethic, team first attitude and a desire to win. This internship will provide firsthand experience with off-season training, catapult, and the development of coaching skills while working under the Football Strength and Conditioning Department. This is an unpaid internship position that will be directly responsible for assisting with program implementation, set up and break down of all workouts, managing the facility, in addition to hands on experience training SEC athletes. Previous experience or participation in athletics is preferred. Other preferred qualifications include a certification from an accredited organization and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. Miami (OH): The Miami University Strength and Conditioning Department in Oxford, Ohio is accepting applications for 3-4 Football intern positions during Summer 2019. Positions require a 13-week commitment with an internship curriculum provided. While this is an unpaid internship, candidates will gain valuable experience training athletes, earn class credit (if applicable), may receive team gear, and earn a potential recommendation for further positions in the field. The purpose of this intern program is to help educate and develop aspiring strength and conditioning coaches. Pay: UNPAID VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIP. Housing: No housing provided. Must find within Oxford, Hamilton, or other nearby cities. Start Date: Monday, May 20th 2019. End Date: Friday, August 16th 2019. Qualifications: Must possess a First Aid/AED Certification. Possess or working towards a CSCS or CSCCa certification. A background in Exercise Science or a related field is preferred, but not required. Strong work ethic, communication, professionalism, initiative, and commitment. Must be able to lift minimum 60 lbs. High level of enthusiasm and energy. Highly motivated to work in collegiate strength and conditioning. Preferred Qualities: Organizational and computer skills. Previous playing or coaching experience. Be able to demonstrate Olympic lifts, speed, change of direction movements. Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Set up, breakdown, and general maintenance of training sessions and facilities. Observe and cue multiple athletes on a variety of movements. May be given the opportunity to assist in design and implementation of various types of training. Any added responsibilities as earned. Ball State: The Ball State University Football Strength and Conditioning Staff is now accepting applications for 2 Volunteer Interns for the 2019 summer strength and conditioning program. The internship begins May 12, 2019 and ends July 24, 2018. These are unpaid positions. Completion of this internship can fulfill credit hours toward a program degree, hours toward SCCC Certification with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, and offer an opportunity for advancement in the profession. Various projects and presentations will be assigned during the internship that will relate to all things necessary in becoming a strength and conditioning professional. Daily responsibilities for these positions include, but are not limited to; assistance in the supervision of the Ball State University football team, set up and breakdown for daily strength and conditioning activities, routine maintenance, cleaning, and organization of the training facility. Desired characteristics for these positions include; great work ethic, strong desire to enhance knowledge of strength and conditioning, attention to detail, punctuality, and accountability. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field; NSCA-CSCS or USAW certifications; CPR certification. Experience in a Strength and Conditioning Program or having previous collegiate athletics experience is also preferred.
