Washington: University of Washington Olympic Strength and Conditioning department is now accepting applications for volunteer intern positions for Summer 2018. Interns will assist the strength and conditioning coaches in the day-to-day operations of the department and will have the opportunity to work with all of the University of Washington's Men's and Women's Olympic Sports. In addition, the educational curriculum includes weekly round table discussion, assignments, and projects led by the strength and conditioning staff. Successful candidates must display a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a desire to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. In addition, they must be committed to enhancing themselves and the department through a continued eagerness to learn and develop professionally. Candidates must possess or be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in exercise science or a related field. Finally, candidates must be working toward or currently certified by the CSCCA or NSCA. This is an unpaid volunteer position primary responsibilities with the Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning Department. Millsaps: Millsaps College’s Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for 1-2 Strength and Conditioning Intern Coachesfor the Spring Semester of 2018. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for Football and all Olympic Sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities and participation in weekly projects and professional development throughout the internship program. Candidates will have the opportunity to program, implement, and supervise a strength and conditioning program for some assigned sports. HOUSING AND SOME MEALS may be provided. No monetary compensation will be provided. Ideal candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework for an undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW) are preferred. Inquiries must be received by January 5th. Santa Clara: The Santa Clara University Sports Performance Department is now accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Sports Performance Coach. This is a 6-month, non-benefited position beginning as soon as possible, and running through June. There is a possibility for renewal at the end of the 6 months. Compensation will be discussed during the interview process. Responsibilities: Assisting with all aspects of the daily operation of the Santa Clara Sports Performance Department. In charge of implementing and designing programs for 2-3 teams, as well as the opportunity to assist with Men’s and Women’s Basketball when available. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field and one year of experience as an intern or GA in a collegiate environment. Must possess either the CSCS or CSCCa certifications.
