Central Arkansas (FCS): Source tells FootballScoop safeties coach Chad Williams is being promoted to Defensive Coordinator. Prior to joining Central Arkansas Williams previously served on staffs at Valdosta State, Savannah State, & West Georgia.

Kansas: Indiana State offensive coordinator Jeff Hecklinski is joining Les Miles' staff as tight ends coach.

Charlotte: Sources tell FootballScoop Central Arkansas defensive coordinator Max Thurmond has accepted the linebackers / special teams coordinator role for Will Healy at Charlotte. Thurmond served in that same capacity for Healy at Austin Peay 2016-17.

Tennessee: Jeremy Pruitt dropped potentially the line of the day today with, "Ya know, the offensive coordinator sometimes is overrated."

App State: Eli Drinkwitz has retained offensive line coach Shawn Clark.

Defensive Coordinator of the Year: Prior winners selected Bob Shoop the 2018 FootballScoop Defensive Coordinator of the Year presented by AstroTurf.

Briar Cliff (NAIA - IA): Briar Cliff is no longer accepting applications for the offensive coordinator / QBs coach position. Thank you for your overwhelming interest. We will be in contact with the applicants shortly.

Muskingum (D-III - OH): Muskingum University has an opening for offensive line coach. Strength & Conditioning experience is a plus. Please email letter of interest, resume & references to Head Coach Erik Ieuter at eieuter@muskingum.edu.

Utah State: Bojay Filimoeatu has been named outside linebackers coach. Bojay is a former Utah State starter at linebacker and spent the last two seasons as the linebackers coach at San Jose State.

Defiance (D-III - OH): Defiance College is adding a new position for a secondary coach. This is a full-time position with retirement & health benefits. Salary is competitive with other schools in our conference. Bachelors degree is required and a Masters degree is preferred. We prefer to hire prior to the AFCA with a starting date after the new year. Candidates please forward a cover letter and resume to coachyellowjackets@gmail.com.

UT-Chattanooga (FCS): Rusty Wright, who has been coaching the inside linebackers and serving as recruiting coordinator the past two seasons at Georgia State, will be the new head coach according to the Times Free Press. Wright is a UTC alum and has coached there as an assistant during two different stints (1996-2002 and 2013-16).

Arizona: Fox analyst DeMarco Murray is considering taking the running backs job on Kevin Sumlin's staff, Adam Schefter tweets. Clarence McKinney, who coached the Wildcats running backs last year, is now the head coach at Texas Southern (FCS).

Green Bay Packers: "It's almost a lock the Packers will contact" Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald about their head coaching job, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel shares.

Lehigh (FCS - PA): Per source, Elon (FCS - NC) offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Drew Folmar is a strong candidate to become be the new head coach at Lehigh. However, we understand that no deal is in place yet. We will keep you posted as things develop.

BC Lions (CFL): DeVone Claybrooks has hired eight coaches to his staff according to the Montreal Gazette, including; Rich Stubler (DC), Bryan Chiu (OL), Ryan Phillips (DBs), Chris Ellis (DL), as well as recently retired players Nik Lewis (RBs) and Drew Tate (QBs). Being retained from the previous staff are offensive coordinator Jarious Jackson and wide receivers coach Markus Howell.

Texas Southern (FCS): So far, Clarence McKinney's staff is made up of former Campbell (FCS - NC) offensive coordinator Dave Marsh as quarterbacks coach, and former East Mississippi (JC) secondary coach Justin Sanders as secondary coach.

Louisville: Appalachian State assistants Mark Ivey and Dale Jones are leaving to join Scott Satterfield's staff at Louisville, Pete Thamel tweets. Ivey, who coached the defensive line for Satterfield, served as the team's interim head coach during bowl prep and Jones was the co-defensive coordinator / ILBs coach.

Dakota Wesleyan (NAIA - SD): Alex Foster has joined the staff as linebackers coach / special teams coordinator. Foster spent the past two seasons in the same capacity at Minnesota State Moorhead (D-II) and previously served as assistant linebackers coach at South Dakota State (FCS).

Texas A&M Commerce (D-II): Source tells FootballScoop David Bailiff has made his first set of hires including Billy Riebock, Xavier Adibi and Jaylon Finner. Finner, who played for Bailff at Rice, was at Ball State as a defensive grad assistant. Riebock, who coached for Bailiff at Rice, served as offensive coordinator at Bridgewater College (VA) last season. Adibi served as a defensive analyst at Arkansas this season.

New Mexico: New Mexico is looking to hire a head video coordinator. Interested applicants can apply via this link.

Nebraska Wesleyan (D-III): Caleb Barnes, a former special teams coordinator at Luther College (D-III - IA), has joined the full-time coaching staff. Barnes spent last season as an assistant at Olathe Northwest HS (KS).

James Madison (FCS - VA): A number of coaches have followed Curt Cignetti from Elon, and been formally announced including; WRs / recruiting coordinator Mike Shanahan, OL coach Damian Wroblewski, LBs coach Bryant Haines, DL coach Jerrick Hall, and DBs coach Ryan Smith. Also, former UMass director of strength and conditioning Brian Phillips and DFO James Ferguson have been announced as well.

Tennessee: Head strength and conditioning coach Craig Fitzgerald has opted to stay with the Vols despite a hard run from Maryland and Mike Locksley to bring him to College Park, per Chris Low.

Bryant (FCS - RI): Columbus HS (FL) head coach Chris Merritt is leaving to become the head coach at Bryant, according to FloridaHSFootball. Sources tell us that this is not a done deal yet, but could still get done here relatively soon.

Midwestern State (D-II - TX): Midwestern State University is looking to fill two open dates on 09/7/2019 and 10/26/2019. Looking for Division II opponents or possible FCS guarantee game. Interested programs please contact Head Coach Bill Maskill at bill.maskill@msutexas.edu.

Missouri S&T (D-II): Missouri S&T is looking to fill open dates of Sept 21st and Oct. 12th 2019. Preferring a home game for at least one of these dates, will consider all options. Contact Head Coach Tyler Fenwick at fenwickt@mst.edu.

Utah State: TJ Woods (OL) and Mike Caputo (safeties) have now been formally announced.

Johnson C. Smith (D-II - NC): Per source, offensive coordinator Steve Shipp and defensive coordinator James Lott will not return.

Geneva (D-III - PA): Geneva College, a Christian college, is looking for a a full-time defensive assistant (preferably in the secondary ). Qualified candidates need to articulate their personal relationship with Jesus Christ, have experience on the defensive side of the ball,have some experience in recruiting and be familiar with managing and overseeing football equipment inventory. The position requires an undergraduate degree and candidate must meet Geneva College hiring requirements concerning the Christian faith. Briar Cliff (NAIA - IA): Briar Cliff University is accepting applications for the position of Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach. This is a full time position with full health benefits. Salary is based off of experience. 5+ years of collegiate or high school experience and a bachelor’s degree is required. Position will close on January 4th. Howard Payne (D-III - TX): Howard Payne University is looking to hire an offensive and defensive graduate assistant to begin in January 2019. Candidates must be hard-working, extremely motivated, and possess strong leadership and communication skills. The applicant must also be accepted into the school’s Masters of Business Administration program. Job requirements include working with equipment, film breakdown, coaching a position group, and other duties as assigned by the head coach. Compensation package includes a tuition waiver, stipend, and free on-campus housing. College playing or coaching experience is preferred. Briar Cliff (NAIA - IA): Briar Cliff has two defensive graduate assistant openings. This is a 10 month position and includes a $5000 stipend, free tuition, and meal plan. Affordable housing in the area is also available. Responsibilities include running positional meetings, assisting with special teams, helping with weekly game plan, film breakdown and data entry (HUDL), recruiting, and other duties assigned by the Head Football Coach. The ideal candidate would have a minimum 1 year coaching experience or collegiate playing experience at defensive back or linebacker. Candidates must be able to gain acceptance to graduate school (2.75 GPA minimum). Review of candidates will begin immediately. Kansas: Last night Kansas announced that longtime Jayhawk assistant Clint Bowen is being retained as safeties coach and Tony Hull is staying on as running backs coach. See yesterday's post for more details.
