Steve Spurrier: The head ball coach states his team should be named the champions if the league suspends operations, and that the league has been "not very truthful" since its inception with players and coaches. Read more details here.

Detroit Lions: The Lions have parted ways with director of pro scouting Brendan Prophett, per Neil Stratton.

Houston Texans: Jack Easterby, the former team development director with the Patriots and character coach under Bill Belichick, has been hired as the executive vice president for team development with the Texans, Adam Schefter tweets.

AAF: The AAF is ceasing operations in the next few hours, and the league folding up soon thereafter is a very real possibility.

Pikeville (NAIA - KY): University Of Pikeville is seeking applications for a Linebacker Coach / Academic Coordinator. Job Responsibilities include: coaching the linebackers, overseeing academics for the team including study hall, using the following computer programs (excel, word, power point & hudl), working with special teams, managing a recruiting area, holding own position meetings, assisting with day-to-day defensive preparation and any other areas assigned by the Head Coach or Defensive Coordinator. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree with college coaching experience preferred. Applicants must be able to work with students and possess good interpersonal skills. Interested applicants should submit a completed University of Pikeville application, resume, three professional references, and a letter of interest online via this link. Review of applications will begin immediately and the position will be filled as soon as possible.

Fitchburg State (D-II - MA): Fitchburg State is looking to bring on a volunteer running backs coach. This is an unpaid position with no housing, no meals included. Where Were They Then? In 2009, the FBS head coaches of 2019 were coaching high school ball, working as support staffers or, in one case, hadn't even started coaching yet. Our annual survey that proves it's still worth it to believe in yourself and chase your dreams.

Trinity International (NAIA - IL): Head coach Lamont Butler has added Ben Keele (RBs), Cameron Rodgers (DBs), Ulysses Hall (DL), and former Greenville (D-III - NC) assistant Chris Womack (QBs) to the staff, per source.

Shorter (D-II - GA): Per source, Shorter has made a number of new hires. Offensive graduate assistant Blake Robles has been promoted to quarterbacks coach, Durant HS (FL) offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Jordan Boatwright has been hired to coach the offensive line, Worth County HS (GA) offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Matthew Burke has been hired to coach the running backs, defensive graduate assistant Aston Derico has been promoted to defensive line coach, and defensive graduate assistant Tyler Majewski has been promoted to outside linebackers coach / recruiting coordinator.

Franklin (D-III - IN): Franklin College has schedule openings for Weeks 2, 3, and 4 for the 2020 and 2021 seasons and are looking for NCAA Division III opponents. If interested, please contact head coach Mike Leonard at mleonard@franklincollege.edu or 317.738.8128.

Georgetown: Last week head coach Rob Sgarlata added Nolan Swett and Trey Henderson to the staff. Swett will coach the receivers while Henderson will serve as special teams coordinator / safeties.
