Congratulations to JMU head coach Mike Houston & his staff as they completed a 14-1 season winning the FCS National Championship 28-14 over Youngstown State today. JMU's only loss was early in the season at North Carolina. Their playoff run included considerable wins over New Hampshire, Sam Houston State, NDSU and Youngstown. Quite a first year guys.

Cleveland Browns: Multiple outlets are now reporting the move is done... Ray Horton is out as defensive coordinator and Gregg Williams is coming in that role. Jason LaCanfora adds that wholesale changes are now coming to the defense.

Cincinnati: Source tells FootballScoop West Virginia offensive line coach Ron Crook is expected to be the new offensive line coach at Cincinnati. Crook has coached the offensive line at WVU since 2013 after spending two seasons at Stanford. In total he has over 20 years experience coaching offensive line.

USF: Shaun King will remain at USF Charlie Strong has announced. The former Tulane & Tampa Bay Buc quarterback will coach the running backs.

Auburn: Missouri corners coach Greg Brown is joining the Auburn staff coaching the defensive backs per multiple reports. Brandon Marcello first reported the move.

Texas: Former Texas Tech assistant Trey Haverty has joined the staff as a defensive quality control assistant under Todd Orlando, as reported by Don Williams of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

New York Jets: There's a "good chance" Bears outside linebackers coach Clint Hurtt takes the same job with the Jets on a 2-year deal, according to Alex Marvez. Marvez notes at least one other team is interested in Hurtt's services. Update: Marvez reports the deal is complete.

Elon: Villanova defensive backs coach Tony Trisciani will be the defensive coordinator at Elon source tells FootballScoop. Villinova was ranked No. 1 country in total defense in FCS in 2016.

Wofford: Safeties coach Shiel Wood is being promoted to defensive coordinator source tells FootballScoop. Defensive line coach Jerome Riase has added defensive run game coordinator title as well. We understand the Terriers will interview candidates for outside linebackers coach at the convention.

Michigan: The position offered to Cleveland Browns associate head coach offense Pep Hamilton at Michigan is quarterbacks coach / passing game coordinator reports Mary Kay Cabot who covers the Browns.

FAU: Following our report yesterday that Garin Justice has been retained, FAUOwlAccess reports that Justice will be the only FAU assistant retained by Lane Kiffin.

Howard Payne University (D-III - TX): Bishop T.K. Gorman head coach Coby Gipson is joining the staff as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks and running backs and Texas Lutheran co-defensive coordinator Mark Carey is joining the staff as defensive coordinator / assistant head coach / linebackers.

San Bernardino Valley College (JC - CA): San Bernardino is seeking to hire an offensive line coach. This is a stipend position with the possibility of teaching classes if candidates meet equivalency. Chicago Bears: Outside linebackers coach Clint Hurtt will not return to the Bears reports the Chicago Sun Times. Prior to joining the Bears, Hurtt spent four seasons each at Louisville and at the University of Miami.

Michigan: Cleveland Browns associate head coach offense Pep Hamilton is considering joining Jim Harbaugh's staff at Michigan reports Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Harbaugh previously hired Hamilton in 2010 to serve as Stanford's receivers coach.

Les Miles: With no job offer in hand, Les Miles says he's still committed to finding that next coaching job.

San Bernardino Valley (JC - CA): San Bernardino Valley College is seeking both offensive and defensive interns for the 2017 season. Their duties will include film breakdown, on field speed/conditioning training, and responsible for red/Grey shirt players development. This is a great position for 1st or 2nd year coaches trying to get into college coaching. This is an unpaid position with no meals or housing. Only Local coaches to So Cal should apply. Cleveland Browns: The Browns have reached out to Gus Bradley about their defensive coordinator job, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer. Bradley is considered the favorite for the Redskins' defensive coordinator job.

Buffalo Bills: The Bills have requested permission to speak with Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Kris Richard about their head job, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. The two sides are expected to meet after Seattle's Wild Card game today with Detroit is complete.

Longtime Juniata College assistant Steve Hayes passed away last week. Hayes, 67, had coached at Juniata over 25 years. Please keep his family in your prayers.
