Lafayette: VMI offensive line coach Gordie Sammis has accepted the offensive line job at Lafayette source tells FootballScoop.

Michigan Tech (D-II): Source tells FootballScoop, Dan Mettlach has been hired at Michigan Tech as an offensive assistant and assistant to head coach. Dan, the offensive coordinator at Finlandia University prior to coming to MTU, was a former quarterback at MTU.

Cleveland Browns: The Browns are making a change at defensive coordinator reports Alex Marvez who adds that the position has been offered to Gregg Williams and that Wade Phillips was also contacted.

Howard University (FCS - DC): Source tells FootballScoop former UVA & Richmond head coach Mike London will be the new head coach at Howard. London coached the defensive line at Maryland this season.

Olivet (D-III - MI): Source tells FootballScoop offensive coordinator Dan Musielewicz will be promoted to head coach at Olivet.

Iowa: Offensive coordinator Greg Davis is retiring the program has announced. The move concludes Davis' 43 year career in college coaching. We salute you on a heck of a career Coach.

Houston: Major Applewhite has announced defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach Mark D'Onofrio, offensive line coach and run game coordinator Darren Hiller (USF OL coach this past season) and outside linebackers coach Dan Carrel (was on UH staff).

Warsaw Eagles (Poland): LaGrange College running backs / special teams coordinator Greg Rein has been named offensive line / defensive line coach / Special Teams Coordinator for the Warsaw Eagles in Poland source tells FootballScoop. Kirk Mastromatteo will serve as head coach / offensive coordinator and Jarvis McGarrah will be the defensive coordinator.

Elon: Fordham defensive line coach Jerrick Hall will join the staff at Elon per Pete Thamel of SI.

MacMurray (D-III - IL): MacMurray College invites applications for an Intern RB Coach. Responsibilities include: coaching, supervising the campus learning center as well as tracking and assisting student-athletes in their academic efforts. Only candidates who are committed to serving in this academic role should apply. Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree, playing and/or coaching experience, and excellent communication skills. Compensation includes a monthly stipend while school is in session, on-campus housing and meals. This is considered an entry-level position. Tennessee: Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke is interviewing for a spot on Tennessee's staff, according to John Brice of Tennessee's 247 site. The former director of football at IMG Academy, Weinke spent the past two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. Brice adds Butch Jones is also looking to add former Miami quarterback Ken Dorsey to his staff as well.

Georgia Tech: FootballScoop has learned that Georgia Tech assistant director of football operations Craig Candeto is being promoted to an on-the-field role and will coach the quarterbacks and B-Backs. Candeto is a former quarterback under Paul Johnson while the two were at Navy, and he also previously served as the head coach at Capital (D-III - OH). Update: Paul Johnson has now announced the hire.

West Virginia Wesleyan (D-II): WVWC is accepting resumes for two restricted earnings coaching positions (1 Offense - RB/H / 1 Defense - Safeties). Candidates should have a minimum of two (2) years coaching on the collegiate/high school level, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a highly competitive environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: managing all aspects of position group, recruiting territory, film responsibilities, study hall, equipment, and others duties as assigned by the athletic director, head coach or coordinator. These are 10-month positions with a stipend of $10,000.00, housing, and some meals. Sierra College (JC - CA): Sierra College is looking for offensive & defensive interns to work the 2017 football season. The intern positions will start in March 2017 and are unpaid, volunteer positions (with the exception of team meals, gear, and travel). Interns will assist with a position group on offense/defense, set up field, and drills. Interns will also have to input HUDL, create reports, and handle game day operations. Wake Forest: Multiple sources tell FootballScoop Arkansas defensive coordinator Robb Smith is expected to become the new defensive coordinator at Wake Forest although we understand the official offer has not been conveyed at this time. Smith has served as defensive coordinator at Arkansas the past three seasons. He spent the 2013 season with the Tampa Bay Bucs and Greg Schiano and was at Rutgers from 2009-2012.

ASA College (JC - Miami, FL): ASA College, a junior college in Miami, Florida has two job openings (offensive skill and defensive backs). The pay is $7,500 annually with housing in the dorms. There is no meals, or benefits. Job responsibilities: RA in dorms, possibly coaching your own position group on Varsity or JV, assist with video coordinator, assist with equipment, and assist with recruiting. Temple: Temple has formally announced the additions of Dave Patenaude (OC), Jim Panagos (DL), Ryan Horton (assistant strength and conditioning) and Jordan Barber (assistant strength and conditioning).

Minnesota: PJ Fleck's contract is a five-year deal worth $18.5 million, averaging $3.5 million annually with a $50,000 raise each year, according to Star Tribune's Joe Christensen.

Dakota State (NAIA): Dakota State is looking for a D3 or NAIA opponent on September 2, 2017. Possible home and home series for 2017-2018 if interested. Tyler (JC - TX): Thomas Rocco has accepted the assistant head coach / defensive coordinator job at Tyler JC, per source. Rocco is the former defensive coordinator at West Texas A&M.

Delaware (FCS): Danny Rocco has announced the following additions from his Richmond (FCS - VA) staff; Chris Cosh (DC / DBs), Fontel Mines (WRs), Bill Polin (TEs), Blaine McCorkle (OL), Clint Sintim (OLBs), Manny Rojas (ILBs) as well as off the field roles in Chris Stewart (head strength and conditioning coach), and Carl Kotz (associate DFO). The following staff members are being retained from the previous staff; Eddie Allen (STC), Dennis Dottin-Carter (DL), David Baylor (player development), and Jerry Oravitz (associate AD for football administration).

Minnesota: PJ Fleck has been formally announced as the new head coach of the program, and the two sides have agreed to a five-year term.

Florida: Randy Shannon has formally been promoted to defensive coordinator. He takes over for Geoff Collins, who left to take the head coaching job at Temple.

Harvard (FCS - MA): Harvard University invites applicants for the position of running back or wide receiver coach. This position coach will work closely with the head coach and staff, with primary responsibilities being on-field coaching and national recruitment of academically-qualified D-1 student-athletes. Pass game experience as a QB or QB coach is preferable but not required. In this full time, 12-month, benefits-eligible role, the successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and coaching experience at the intercollegiate level, demonstrated success as a recruiter, and strong work ethic and interpersonal skills. Mercyhurst (D-II - PA): Mercyhurst University has an immediate graduate assistant position opening. The primary coaching role will be working with LB or DL position (Knowledge of the 3-3-5 Stack defensive scheme is a plus). Additionally, the ideal candidate would have a background in strength & conditioning. Responsibilities will include coaching a position group, recruiting, all aspects of video/film/social media (HUDL/DV Sport), and off the field responsibilities. This position includes a stipend, some meals, tuition for Graduate School, but no housing or benefits. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, acceptance into Mercyhurst University Graduate School, strong communication and computer skills along with previous coaching and/or playing experience. PJ Fleck: Western Michigan has confirmed Fleck's departure for Minnesota. He'll owe the Broncos a $600,000 buyout, according to contract details obtained by USA Today's Steve Berkowitz. 

Minnesota: Sources tell FootballScoop that Western Michigan's PJ Fleck will be the new head coach at Minnesota.Pete Thamel reported this morning that Minnesota "is expected to hire PJ Fleck" as their new head coach and adds that the two sides are working on a deal that could be finalized as early as this morning. Local reports out of Minnesota have stated the same.

Indianapolis Colts: Head coach Chuck Pagano "has received assurance from team owner Jim Irsay that he wil return as head coach for 2017 season," per a report from Alex Marvez.

Wagner (FCS): Wagner is no longer accepting resumes for their running backs graduate assistant position. Thank you for the overwhelming interest in the position.

Willamette (D-III - OR): Willamette has an immediate opening for an offensive line coach. The applicant will work with the offensive line, have a recruiting territory, and will have administrative duties. This is a 12 month position that pays $15,000 per year, includes benefits, and may include a housing option.
