UNLV: UNLV has extended the contract of head coach Tony Sanchez through the 2021 season. Sanchez signed a four-year deal upon being hired back in December of 2014 and is 7-17 in two seasons with the program (3-9 in 2015 and 4-8 in 2016).

Arizona Cardinals: Per Alex Marvez, Byron Leftwich is joining the staff as quarterbacks coach and Freddie Kitchens will move to running backs coach, where he replaces Stump Mitchell, who recently left the staff.

Butte College (JC - CA): Jeff Jordan has resigned from the head coaching position after 11 seasons. Robby Snelling, the offensive line coach and offensive coordinator, has been named interim head coach.

New York Jets: Per the Sporting News, the Jets are expected to hire Kevin Green to coach the outside linebackers.

Colorado: Safeties coach Joe Tumpkin has resigned from the staff, effective Jan. 31.

University of Mary (D-II - ND): William Penn University (NAIA - IA) slot coach Jake Adams is the new slots coach at University of Mary, per source.

Sonny Dykes: According to Jeff Metcalfe, former Cal head coach Sonny Dykes was a "legit candidate" for the vacant Arizona State offensive coordinator job, but "is unable to due to family issues making TCU a better fit for now." Dykes joined the TCU staff in an off-the-field role a few weeks ago.

Virginia State (D-II):Virginia State University is seeking 2 opponents for a Home/Home series in 2017 for BOTH September 9th (week 2) and September 16th (Week 3). The Trojans would prefer homes games for both dates in 2o17. We are looking to play Division 2, Division 3, or NAIA opponents. Colorado: According to BSN Denver, safeties coach Joe Tumpkin will not return. Tumpkin, who has been with the program the past two seasons and served as the defensive play caller for the Alamo Bowl, has a contract that is set to expire February 1sst.

Philadelphia Eagles: According to Jeff McLane, the Eagles have "in essence fired player personnel executive Rick Mueller." McLane adds that Mueller remains under contract with the team but no longer has an office and has begun searching for a new job.

Clemson: Winning a national title cost Clemson a large chunk of change in staff bonuses. (It was still worth it.)

Brevard (D-III - NC): Sources tell FootballScoop that former NFL linebacker Kurt Gouveia has joined Bill Khayat's staff as defensive coordinator. Following a 13 year playing career, Gouveia coached in NFL Europe and was most recently on Norm Chow's staff at Hawaii.

Baltimore Ravens: Craig Ver Steeg (a senior offensive assistant last season) has been promoted to quarterbacks coach, defensive assistant Mike MacDonald has been promoted to assistant defensive backs coach, and Drew Wilkins (who served as a defensive assistant last season) has been promoted to assistant defensive line coach.

New Orleans Saints: Per Adam Caplan, Redskins special teams assistant Brad Banta has interviewed for the Saints special teams coordinator position.

Brevard (D-III - NC):Brevard College is looking for an opponent, home or away, November 11, 2017. Prefer DIII or NAIA but willing to consider D2. Interested schools should contact Coach Dynomite at coachdyno@gmail.com.

Minnesota: Fleck's 5-year, $3.5 million deal at Minnesota includes a buyout of $3.5 milion if Minnesota dismisses him in the first two years of the deal, $2.5 million in year three, and $1.5 million in the final two. If Fleck were to leave, he'd owe Minnesota the sum of his base salary (he will make $1 million in base salary annually with yearly inreases of $50,000) for the remainder of the contract.
