Southern Oregon University head coach Craig Howard has passed away. Please keep his family in your prayers. Coach Howard previously served as head coach and defensive coordinator at Oregon Tech as well as head coach at both Nease & Columbia high schools in Florida.

Los Angeles Chargers: The Chargers are hiring former Jags coach Gus Bradley as their defensive coordinator, reports Adam Schefter.

Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jaguars have hired Keenan McCardell as receivers coach. McCardell coached receivers at Maryland in 2014 & 2015.

Arkansas: Offensive coordinator Dan Enos has received an updated contract including a $50,000 raise reports Tom Murphy. The new contract pays him $800,000 for this next season, $850,000 the following and $900,000 for year three. Murphy adds that Arkansas waived the $250,000 buyout for Robb Smith who cited "philosophical differences" with Bret Bielema as the reason for his departure.

Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings have now officially announced Pat Shurmur as offensive coordinator and Kennedy Polamalu as running backs coach.

Wisconsin: Paul Chryst's contract has been renewed through January 2022.

Los Angeles Chargers: Adam Caplan reports the LA Chargers (yeah, that feels weird) are hiring Alfredo Roberts as their running backs coach.

New York Jets: The Jets have hired former Browns defensive line coach Robert Nunn reports Alex Marvez.

Buffalo Bills: The Bills have hired Andrew Dees as assistant offensive line coach.

Princeton: Linebackers coach Stephen Thomas has added the special teams coordinator title in addition to coaching linebackers.

Denver Broncos: Geep Chryst (who coached quarterbacks & served as offensive coordinator for the 49ers from 2011-2015) is expected to become the new tight ends coach of the Broncos reports Alex Marvez.

Ottawa University (NAIA - AZ): Former West Texas A&M head coach Mike Nesbitt will reportedly be the new head coach at Ottawa University in Arizona.

Penn: Source tells FootballScoop former Dartmouth tackles / tight ends coach Kyle Metzler is joining Penn's staff.

Scoop Him UpTim Newsom, a veteran coach and great receuiter is looking to return to college coaching ranks. He has coached at Junaita college, James Madison, Savannah State, Johnson C. Smith University, Cheyney University and Stillman College. Newsom has experience coaching running backs and defensive backs and serving as defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator, as well as a stint as the head coach at Cheyney University. Tennessee: Tennessee has announced Larry Scott's promotion to offensive coordinator, Mike Canales's hiring as quarterbacks coach, and Charlton Warren's additional duties as special teams coordinator.

Calgary Stampeders (CFL): The Stampeders have announced a 3-year extension for head coach Dave Dickenson, keeping him in Calgary through 2020. He led the club to a 15-2-1 mark in his first season on the job.

Minnesota Vikings: Pat Shurmur will stay on as offensive coordinator, with Kevin Stefanski moving from running backs coach to quarterbacks coach and former Broncos assistant Clancy Barone coming aboard as tight end coach, per multiple reports. Alex Marvez previously reported Kennedy Polamalu will leave UCLA to be the Vikes' running backs coach.

Weber State: Head coach Jay Hill has signed a 5-year extension, the school has announced. Terms were not disclosed.

Pac Pro League: Adam Schefter has stepped down from his role as a member of the advisory board of the Pac Pro startup football league reports Sports Business Daily.

Presbyterian: Mitch Doolittle has joined the staff as defensive coordinator and Taylor Cornett as tight ends coach.

William Jewell (D-II - MO): Quinn Brown has accepted a position as the OL coach at William Jewell. Brown was most recently an OL graduate assistant at Northern Colorado and Wyoming. He played at the University of Missouri from 2008-2011.

United States Coast Guard Academy (D-III - CT):The United States Coast Guard Academy is seeking a scrimmage opponent for the upcoming season. Please contact head coach Bill George at 860-444-8584 or bill.george@uscga.edu.

Alabama: Alabama has given Mike Locksley a co-offensive coordinator title, per Bruce Feldman.

Washington State: Jeff Phelps has been hired as defensive line coach, according to CougFan.com.

Seattle Seahawks: The Seahawks have hired Bears outside linebackers coach Clint Hurtt as defensive line coach, according to Adam Caplan of ESPN.

Green Bay Packers: The Packers have signed director of player personnel Brian Gutekunst to a new contract, according to multiple reports. Gutenkunst was reportedly the leading candidate for the 49ers' GM job.

Emporia State (D-II - KS): Emporia State has filled its graduate assistant position. Thank you for your interest.

Carthage College (D-III - WI): Carthage College is seeking applicants for a defensive graduate assistant coach, preferably with DB playing or coaching experience. The position includes a $7,000 stipend, most meals, and free graduate school. Housing is not included. The successful candidate will have his own recruiting area. Start date is ASAP. Middle Tennessee: Former Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer is joining the Middle Tennessee staff as defensive coordinator. Shafer had joined DJ Durkin's staff at Maryland in December 2015; but stepped down just months later and did not coach this past season.

Dickinson College (D-III - PA): Bucknell linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator Brad Fordyce has been named Dickinson's head coach.

LSU: Head strength coach Tommy Moffitt's new contract is a three-year deal beginning at $400,000, with $15,000 raises in year 2 and 3 reports Ross Dellenger of The Advocate.

Western New Mexico (D-II): Western New Mexico University, part of the Lone Star conference, is searching for a Defensive Backs Coach/Video Coordinator. The position will pay $8,000 for a 10 month contract, will include a dorm room, and will also include some funding for graduate courses if desired. Preferred Experience Includes; college coaching with the secondary, video coordinating/highlight film creation, and recruiting your own area.
