Alabama: Alabama's hiring of UTSA defensive coordinator Pete Golding is now official. Nick Saban did not announce Golding's role; but sources tell FootballScoop he will have the co-defensive coordinator role.

Arizona State: Source tells FootballScoop receivers coach Rob Likens is being promoted to offensive coordinator. FootballScoop had heard chatter just in the past days Likens had been strongly in the mix for the same role with Sonny Dykes at SMU. Arizona State's 247 site is reporting Likens is expected to get the position.

Texas A&M: Jim Turner is being retained as offensive line coach, sources told FootballScoop.

Florida: Charlton Warren, who coached defensive backs at Tennessee this season, has accepted the defensive backs position at Florida. Sources told FootballScoop Warren had been offered the same role at UCLA but turned it down (Paul Rhoads wound up accepting that role earlier this week). Warren previously coached DBs at Nebraska, North Carolina and Air Force as well.

Oklahoma Panhandle State (NAIA): Per source, defensive backs coach Lemarcus Gibson has been promoted to defensive coordinator.

Missouri: Former Florida offensive line coach Brad Davis is joining the staff in the same role, sources told FootballScoop. Davis coached the offensive line this season under Jim McElwain. We're told Dan Mullen had hoped to retain Davis as tight ends coach. Davis previously coached the offensive line at Portland State, James Madison, East Carolina and North Texas.

Fordham (FCS - NY): Former Montana (& Colorado School of Mines) head coach Bob Stitt "has emerged as a candidate" for the Fordham head job tweets Bruce Feldman.

ECU: Kirk Doll, who previously served as special teams coordinator and outside linebackers coach at FIU in 2016, is joining the staff as the program's 10th assistant on January 9th, Scottie Montgomery noted today. Montgomery noted that Shannon Moore will now focus solely on tight ends and his new role as recruiting coordinator with the addition of Doll. Doll previously coached the running backs and coordinated the special teams at ECU from 2012-2015.

Toledo: Jason Candle has signed a 2-year extension to remain the head coach of the Rockets.

Ohio State: Defensive line coach Larry Johnson put to rest any rumors of his future with the program, tweeting today, "Apparently there is misinformation about my future. I want to make a bold statement that I am not going anywhere and I'm proud to be a Buckeye." He's still basking in the glow of being named FootballScoop's Defensive Line Coach of the Year yesterday.

Briar Cliff (NAIA - IA): Eric Daniels has joined the staff as defensive coordinator after most recently serving as the assistant head coach / defensive coordinator / linebackers coach at Oklahoma Panhalde State (NAIA), per source.

Fort Scott CC (JC - KS): Fort Scott Community College is immediately seeking qualified applicants for an offensive position. If selected you will report to the head football coach/offensive coordinator and duties will include video breakdown of games, self-scout breakdown, opponent scouting, on the field coaching (run game),and recruiting with additional duties assigned by the head coach. Opportunity to have your own position group for the right candidate. Experience playing/coaching and using Hudl digital editing system is a plus. Alabama: UTSA defensive coordinator Pete Golding is "going through the hiring process" at Alabama, according to Aaron Suttles of the Tuscaloosa News. FootballScoop reported Wednesday Golding was likely to be a co-defensive coordinator with the Tide.

Louisiana-Lafayette: Billy Napier's deal is a five-year deal worth a maximum first-year compensation of $1.47 million (including bonus money), per a tweet from Yahoo's Pat Forde. His assistant salary pool will also be the largest in the Sun Belt by far.

Alex Grinch: Washington State defensive coordinator Alex Grinch has become a very real candidate to join the Ohio State staff; but there's more...

Arizona State: Source tells FootballScoop longtime NFLer Antonio Pierce is a strong candidate to join the defensive staff, likely working with the linebackers. Following a 9 year NFL career, Pierce most recently has served as head coach at Long Beach Poly the past 4 seasons. Further, Mike Jurecki, reports Edwards has "zeroed in on" longtime NFL assistant Donnie Henderson to be another part of the defensive staff. Henderson, who served as defensive coordinator for Edwards with the Jets, has coached defensive backs most of his career. Henderson was not coaching this season.

Louisiana-Lafayette: Arizona State offensive coordinator Billy Napier plans to accept the Louisiana-Lafayette head coaching job, sources told FootballScoop on Friday.

Henderson State (D-II - AR): Henderson State has announced a 5-year contract extension for head coach Scott Maxfield. Maxfield has compiled a 94-48 mark in 13 seasons leading the Reddies. “I want to thank the Henderson State Board of Trustees, President Glen Jones and Director of Athletics Shawn Jones for having the confidence in me to continue leading the football program at Henderson State,” said Maxfield. “We will continue to strive to be the best program in the Great American Conference with the ultimate goal of winning the first national championship in school history.”

Virginia Union: Source tells FootballScoop defensive ends coach Troy Taylor has resigned.

Kent State: Last night we reported Minnesota's Ed Warinner was no longer a candidate (per source). Thereafter, Warinner tweeted that he personally was never contacted by anyone from the University. As we said, this search hasn't gone smoothly. As we reported yesterday, Syracuse co-offensive coordinator Sean Lewis is considered a finalist for the position and we understand at least one more coach is considered a finalist as well. We were told this AM this one likely won't be over until the weekend. Head here and you'll likely see why...
