Ever since PJ Fleck landed the head coaching job at Western Michigan back in 2013, fans and coaches have heard the "Row the Boat" mantra that has driven the culture of his program, first in Kalamazoo and now at Minnesota.
Culture has become a huge buzz word that has taken on a life of its own the past several years and a lot of discussion and thought takes place among the coaching community revolving around the concept of culture, what you want your culture to look like, and what the experience that your culture ultimately delivers to your players, among a host of other areas.
I believe that one of the most powerful messages about culture comes when your players are able to describe what the program's culture is, how it has been build, and it's especially powerful when they're able to articulate what the culture means to them.
That's what Minnesota did when they decided to sit down a handful of players in front of cameras to talk about the Row the Boat culture of the Gopher program.
Watch the clip, and then ask: How would your players describe your team culture to others?
Q: How would you describe the #Gophers Row The Boat Culture?
