Pat Narduzzi calls his shot... and connects (Featured)

History has a way of repeating itself in Pittsburgh. It was 10 years ago when a 4-7 Pitt team went to Morgantown to play the No. 2 team in the country. This was the result.

Last season, Pitt again traveled to meet the No. 2 team in the nation, and again knocked them off.

On Friday, Pitt hosted No. 2 Miami and led 10-7 at the half. Panthers head coach Pat Narduzzi and pledged that his club would finish the job.

And they did. Pitt ran away from the second-ranked Hurricanes, dominating the line of scrimmage and forcing Malik Rozier into the worst game of his career, coming away with a the most emphatic of the program's three No. 2 takedowns.

Now if you're Miami, you hope history repeats itself one way, and definitely not the other. West Virginia's loss knocked the Mountaineers out of the national championship hunt -- in the BCS system, remember -- Rich Rodriguez left town shortly thereafter, and the program has never really recovered. But Clemson went on to win the national title.

Even with Friday's loss, Miami still has a chance to win its way back into contention by beating No. 3 Clemson in the ACC Championship next Saturday.
