The Washington Redskins lost to the New England Patriots 33-7 on Sunday. The game was in Landover, but it might as well have been in Foxboro.
The loss dropped Washington to 0-5 on the season. The last four losses have been by double digits, and the last two by a combined 57-10. Jay Gruden is now 35-49-1 and hasn't led the Redskins to a playoff trip since 2015. NFL head coaches don't typically survive an 0-5 start on the heels of three non-playoff seasons, and Gruden seemed to know it after the game on Sunday.
This will be a situation to watch Monday and beyond -- if the "beyond" part even proves necessary. As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
