James Franklin, Sandy Barbour and Penn State are being sued by a former team doctor, according to PennLive.
The suit claims that, on multiple occasions, Franklin pressured Dr. Scott A. Lynch and influenced his decisions on whether hurt players were healthy enough to play - although the full 43-page lawsuit does not list any specific incidents of that.
Lynch was relieved of his duties with the football team and as the director of athletic medicine back in March. He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages int he suit, stating that Penn State violated his rights as a whistleblower.
The former Penn State employee also alleges that the reason behind his firing breaches NCAA and Big Ten regulations, specifically the practices in place that bar coaches from interfering in the treatment of injured athletes.
