A week ago in the Warm Up, Jurgen Klopp talked about the mix of humbleness and confidence that is required to be an effective leader.
Oftentimes, being a head coach means handling what you're confident with and hiring qualified people you trust to handle the rest. That's the basic outline of how Baylor managed to become a topic of conversation earlier this week during December's signing day.
Many thought the approach was genius. While others found it simply bizarre. Either way it had everyone talking about Baylor football's #35 ranked signing class (per 247), and even made our short list as one of the few elite signing day announcements from around college football.
So how did the whole idea come together? Well, as Matt Rhule explains on Sirius XM, he really didn't even know about it until a staffer came up and asked if she could order some "baby Jordans." He directs all of the credit to three creative people on the Bears staff.
After seeing how the videos for recruits panned out, and seeing the attention to detail that went into them (which the recruits absolutely loved), Rhule threw out the idea of having a puppet for himself, and within two hours they had a video done for him as well.
Hear how the whole thing came about below.
