Christian Taylor will be the new offensive coordinator at William & Mary, sources told FootballScoop on Wednesday.
Taylor will replace Brennan Marion, who left to coach wide receivers at Hawai'i.
Taylor is currently the offensive coordinator at San Diego, where he helped the Toreros become one of the premier non-scholarship programs in FCS.
In six seasons on staff, Taylor coached running backs, wide receivers and quarterbacks while serving as a co-coordinator and, in 2019, as USD's sole offensive coordinator. A 2018 FootballScoop FCS Coordinator of the Year finalist alongside Jim Jackson, Taylor helped San Diego rank seventh nationally in yards per play in 2018 and third in '19.
Taylor leaves San Diego helping the Toreros win five consecutive Pioneer Football League titles while mounting a 37-game conference winning streak.
Taylor is a William & Mary graduate and a former Tribe quarterback who got his start in coaching as the his alma mater's tight ends coach in 2008. He moved to quarterbacks in 2009 -- the Tribe reached the FCS semifinals that season -- before joining the San Diego State staff in 2010.
William & Mary went 5-7 under head coach Mike London in 2019, his first at the school.
