Ball Tonight: Three FBS games tonight, including two from the Power Five. TCU at Texas Tech (7pm EST on FS1), Wake Forest at Duke (7:30pm EST on ESPN) and what likely will be the best game of the night, South Alabama at Troy (7:30pm EST on ESPN2). In FCS play we have Mississippi Valley State at Bethune-Cookman (7:30pm ET on ESPNU). In the league the Titans are in Pittsburgh to play the Steelers at 8:15pm ET on Prime Video. 

Big Ten: Big Ten coaches are frustrated by their sense that commissioner Tony Petitti is not currently preparing to step in as Michigan pursues a third straight tainted conference championship.

Illinois: AD Josh Whitman has signed an extension to keep him in Champaign through 2030-31 at a salary of $1.5 million. 

Helmet Communication: Sources tell FootballScoop that this season's bowl games may feature in-helmet communication technology, and CoachComm is ready to deliver.

Michigan: The latest at Michigan, as Big Ten coaches and administrators look to the league for action, and sources tell FootballScoop that investigators have boots on the ground in Ann Arbor.

Colgate (FCS): The school has removed the interim tag from vice president / athletic director Yariv Amir, who has been leading the department since January.

Iowa: After declining to say he'd return to lead the team next fall yesterday, Kirk Ferentz clarifies concerns regarding his future leading the Hawkeyes.

Arizona State: Kenny Dillingham announced on his Sparky's Den weekly radio show that defensive coordinator Brian Ward has agreed to a contract extension to remain in Tempe the next three seasons.

San Diego (FCS): USD athletic director Bill McGillis has resigned, Brett McMurphy reports. San Diego is under investigation for hazing allegations within the football program.
