App State: Sources tell FootballScoop Dowell Loggains is planning to hire former App State player DJ Smith as his new defensive coordinator

Alabama A&M (FCS): Alabama A&M went the former NFL player route; but one who has experience as a head coach. Miles College head coach Sam Shade is the new head coach at Alabama A&M. 

Wake Forest: Washington State assistant head coach / defensive tackles coach Pete Kaligis is set to join the staff, per CBS Sports. In addition to Wazzu, Kaligis and head coach Jake Dickert previously worked together at Wyoming for a few seasons.

Grand View (NAIA - IA): After playing a critical role in six straight undefeated regular seasons and leading one of the top defenses in small college football, the school has promoted EJ Peterson to the head coaching spot. Peterson is a 2011 Grand View alumnus and Hall of Famer whose defense led the country in total yards, passing yards, rushing yards, and points per game during their 14-0 run and national title this past fall.

Kennesaw State: Jerry Mack is bringing a familiar face with him to Kennesaw State, sources tell FootballScoop.

Sacramento State (FCS): Colorado State corners coach Marcus Patton is joining Brennan Marion's staff as defensive coordinator. Patton previously served as defensive coordinator at Tarleton State. 

Torino Giaguari (Italy): The Torino Giaguari in the Italian First Division are seeking a player-coach. Offer includes round-trip airfare, housing, monthly salary, and other benefits, including living in a great European city. Season runs from January/February through the middle of June. Mississippi State: Two coaches are leaving Colorado's staff to join Jeff Lebby's at Mississippi State 247 sports is reporting - offensive line coach Phil Loadholt is coming to take over as offensive line coach from Cody Kennedy and defensive ends coach Vincent Dancy is coming in the same role. 

Concordia (D-III - WI): Concordia has a graduate assistant position open. This position will ideally be responsible for coaching, recruiting, film breakdown, data entry and other duties as assigned (Specific coaching assignments will be determined by successful candidate’s strengths). Qualified candidates must have playing or coaching experience and be able to gain admittance to the graduate school. This position includes a salary. Snow College (JC - UT): Snow College is accepting applications for a RECEIVERS coach. Previous coaching experience is required. Bachelors degree is also required. Duties include but are not limited to: recruiting an assigned area and position, academic monitoring of assigned student athletes, film breakdown and game planning responsibilities, and on campus housing duties. Position will include football stipend, and stipend for teaching PE classes. No benefits. There is also the option for housing at a large discount to the coach. Applicants MUST BE ABLE TO LIVE IN SANPETE COUNTY. Please do not apply if you cannot live in Sanpete County. Ideal candidate will be on campus ASAP. Spring semester begins January 8th. Washington State: South Dakota State head coach Jimmy Rogers has accepted the head coaching position at Wazzu sources tell FootballScoop.

Sacramento State (FCS): Portland State (FCS) offensive coordinator AC Patterson has now officially been named co-offensive coordinator / running backs coach at Sac State.

Fresno State: Northern Illinois defensive coordinator Nick Benedetto will be Matt Entz' defensive coordinator at Fresno State. Prior to his past few seasons at NIU, Benedetto served as defensive coordinator at Samford for two seasons and at Sioux Falls for three seasons as well.

West Virginia: Sources tell FootballScoop Rich Rod plans to hire Jeff Casteel to coach on the defensive staff (position group TBD based on other hires). Casteel coached / coordinated at West Virginia 10+ seasons in the early 2000s before going on to serve as defensive coordinator at Arizona and Nevada for just under a decade before returning to work at WVU under Neal Brown several seasons.

Ole Miss: Sources tell FootballScoop Jay Shoop has accepted a promotion at Ole Miss over an opportunity to coach safeties at UNLV. Shoop, who served as a defensive grad assistant this season is now being promoted to a senior analyst role sources share.
