Schreiner University (D-III - TX): Keith Allen has been named head football coach at Schreiner University. Allen has previously served as head coach at the King's Academy (FL) and at Southwest Baptist University and has nearly 20 years of collegiate coaching experience. Schreiner plans to bring back football for the first time in over seventy years, fielding a team for the 2026 season.  

Dallas Cowboys: Steve Shimko, the offensive coordinator at Boston College in 2023 and an offensive assistant on last year's staff, will be the new quarterbacks coach, per Todd Archer.

Minnesota: Central Michigan defensive line coach CJ Robbins, who has recent prior stops at Kent State and South Dakota (FCS), is expected to be the new rush ends coach for PJ Fleck's Gophers, ESPN shares.

Dallas Cowboys: Ken Dorsey's role with the team will be pass game specialist, multiple reports share.

Monmouth (FCS - NJ): Springfield College (D-III) defensive coordinator Lou DiRienzo has stepped down to become the linebackers coach and defensive run game coordinator at Monmouth University. He spent the past five seasons with the program.

Cleveland Browns: Defensive line coach / run game coordinator Adam Morris has accepted the assistant defensive line job, per ESPN.

Alabama: With the recent addition of Ryan Grubb to the staff as offensive coordinator, Nick Sheridan will continue to coach the Tide quarterbacks after serving as the team's play caller last season, per 247.

Wofford (FCS - SC): The program has now announced the hire of former Jacksonville State safeties coach Brandon Napoleon as the new corners coach.

Wake Forest: Marshall special teams quality control analyst Rhett Purling has accepted a special teams assistant job with the Demon Deacons, per source.

UMass: New Haven (D-II - CT) receivers coach Travis Ecke has accepted a graduate assistant position on staff with the Minutemen working with receivers.

St. Francis (NAIA - IL): Tight ends coach Scott Hansen is stepping away from the program after five seasons for the opportunity to coach his oldest son.

Sam Houston State: Freddie Aughtry-Lindsay, who spent last season at NC State, has now been announced as defensive coordinator / inside linebackers coach for Phil Longo's staff. Also joining the program are Gary McGraw (CBs) and Issac Mooring (DEs).

New York Giants: Former Jaguars and Bills receivers coach Chad Hall is joining the team as assistant quarterbacks coach, per Adam Schefter.

Florida: CBS Sports shares former Atlanta Falcons director of football operations Nick Folk is the leading candidate for the VP of football job with the Gators. Polk most recently has worked with the sports agency Athletes First but spent two decades with Atlanta working with salary cap management.

Boise State: The program has now announced the hires of Frank Maile (defensive analyst), Justin Udy (offensive analyst / quarterbacks), as well as Shauny Fisk (graduate assistant in football recruiting and operations) and Connor McKelvey (graduate assistant football sports performance).

Dallas Cowboys: The team is working to add former Bills and Browns offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey to the staff, per NFL Network. With much of the offensive staff already in place, it will be interesting to see the role the veteran NFL play caller has in Dallas. 

UMass: Donald Celiscar, who spent the past three seasons at Western Michigan as corners coach, is joining the UMass staff, per CBS Sports.

Western Michigan: ESPN shares LSU analyst Nick Coleman (CBs), former Charlotte linebackers coach Greer Martini, and Vanderbilt assistant defensive line coach / pass rush specialist Seth Payne (DL / run game coordinator) are joining the defensive side of the ball led by new defensive coordinator Chris O'Leary.

Georgia Southern: Sources confirm that Ced Douglas is leaving South Alabama to join the staff at Georgia Southern as their new defensive line coach. Douglas has inked a two-year deal and has prior stops at Buffalo, UMass, and Utah State. ESPN has also reported the hire.

Brown (FCS - RI): Brown University is hiring for a defensive assistant. This position is full-time with benefits. Interested candidates should email a resume to Director of Football Operations Evan Siegel at evan_siegel1@brown.edu.

Concord (D-II - WV): Concord University, a Division 2 institution in Athens, WV is accepting applications for 2 entry level coaching positions (1 Offense/1 Defense). All positions will be considered. These positions will come with a 10K stipend, optional graduate classes, discounted housing, and some meals. Review of applicants will begin immediately. Preferred start date will be 3/1/2025. Marist (FCS - NY): Wayne Valley (NJ) head coach Roger Kotlarz has stepped down to become a senior analyst on staff at Marist.

Dan Orlovsky: With his former teammate Kellen Moore set to take the Saints job, is the ESPN NFL analyst set to leave his TV set to join him?

Marietta (D-III - OH): Tom Kaufman, who recently led Gilmour Academy (OH) to their first Elite 8 appearance and school record 12-wins and who has experience at Kent State, Syracuse, Texas and a host of other spots, has been named the new head coach.

Southeast Missouri (FCS): The SEMO program is adding a pair of defensive coaches, sources tell FootballScoop.

Texas Wesleyan (NAIA - TX): Texas Wesleyan is looking for a week 1 (9/6) or week 7 (10/18) game for 2025. Could be a home and home, if interested contact at glover@txwes.edu

Colgate (FCS - NY): Joe Gerbino (WRs / PGC) and former FootballScoop Division III Coordinator of the Year Patrick Rotchford (OL / RGC) have both formally joined the staff.

Bucknell (FCS - PA): Bucknell University is looking for a running backs coach. This is an entry-level, full-time position. This coach will be responsible for coaching the running backs, as well as recruiting an assigned territory and your position. The running backs coach will also assist with video breakdown, scouting reports, playbook drawing, practice preparation, and other duties as assigned by the head coach and coordinators. The ideal candidate should have experience coaching or playing the RB position, the desire to work with high academic student-athletes, and a proven track record of working well in a collaborative environment. Preference given to those who have GA’d / QC’d at the FBS level and have full-time experience. Minorities are encouraged to apply. Process will move quickly. Dallas Cowboys: Todd Archer shares Carlos Polk will be the new assistant special teams coach for the team. After serving in the same capacity in Dallas in 2019, he's gone on to work with the Jaguars and Bears.

Tulane: Offensive recruiting specialist Kyle Schexnayder has been promoted to director of recruiting.

Pitt State (D-II - KS): Special teams coordinator Chase Johnson is no longer with the program.

Langston University (NAIA - OK): Langston is looking for a football game on September 13th and September 27th. Looking for NAIA (will travel), as well as a D2 or FCS Guarantee game. Please contact adam.goggans@langston.edu if interested.

Robert Morris (FCS - PA): Robert Morris is looking to fill two positions on the defensive side of the ball (assistant defensive line coach, assistant linebackers and assistant defensive backs coach). Both of these positions will be VOLUNTEER positions on the Robert Morris Football Staff. These positions will work directly with the defensive staff and head coach. Coaches will be responsible for assisting each position group, film breakdown, data entry, and all other duties assigned by the defensive staff. Texas: Names have emerged for the Texas defensive backs opening.

Thomas More (D-II - KY): Thomas More University has an immediate opening for a full time WR coach. This is an entry level full-time (with benefits) position. Preference will be given to candidates with WR coaching or playing experience and experience with digital design/graphics. Responsibilities include coaching your own position, recruiting your own area, film breakdown, game-planning, and all other duties assigned by the Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator. Temple: Sources confirm the Owls are set to add Liberty director of player relations Isaac Ijalana in a key front office role. Ijalana has previous stops at Ohio State and Rutgers. CBS Sports has shared the same.

Southern Virginia (D-III): Offensive coordinator Mark Murdoch has been promoted to associate head coach and Westfield State (D-III - MA) defensive coordinator / special teams coordinator Chris Ehorn Jr. has been named the team's new defensive coordinator.

Ohio State: With Brian Hartline moving to offensive coordinator, Ryan Day is making another internal promotion to co-offensive coordinator.

Whittier (D-III - CA): After shutting down the football program two years ago, a grassroots fundraising effort raised $800k to bring it back and now sources tell FootballScoop the Poets are set to hire a MAC assistant as their head coach.

New England College (D-III - NH): New England College is currently accepting applications for an Offensive Coordinator / QB position. This is a full-time position with benefits. Dallas Cowboys: Just days after adding one of the top offensive line coaches in college football, Brian Schottenheimer and the Cowboys are reportedly dipping back into the college ranks and landing a Big Ten coordinator.

New Haven (D-II): The University of New Haven has an immediate opening for a Special Teams Coordinator. Preference will be given to experienced STC with DB or WR position coaching experience. This is a full-time (with benefits) position, $50,000 Salary and no housing. Responsibilities include coaching all 4 units of the special teams, coaching your own position, recruiting your own area, film breakdown, game-planning, and all other duties assigned by the Head Coach. Buffalo Bills: The team has parted ways with special teams coordinator Matthew Smiley, per Tom Pelissero.

Colgate (FCS - NY): Trevor Warner has accepted the defensive coordinator job. He spent last season as the safeties coach at St. Thomas (FCS - MN) and is the former defensive coordinator at Ithaca College (D-III).

Notre Dame: Multiple reports share Penn State co-offensive coordinator / assistant head coach and running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider is expected to accept the running backs job. Seider has worked with running backs at Marshall, West Virginia and Florida.

New York Jets: Mike Mitchell shares that veteran NFL corner Dre Bly is joining the staff as corners coach. Bly served as corners coach under Aaron Glenn in Detroit in 2023 and was a defensive analyst last season at Charlotte.

Arkansas Pine-Bluff (FCS): UAPB has hired Miguel Black as their new running backs coach and recruiting coordinator. Black was recently on staff at Mississippi College (D-II), who shut down their football program after the 2024 season.

Virginia State (D-II): VSU are accepting inquiries for two part-time positions on the offensive side of the ball—RB & TE. Previous experience playing or coaching the position is preferred. Please direct all inquiries to asellis@vsu.edu. No calls please.

Minnesota: Jayden Everett, who spent last season helping coach the running backs at Michigan and had recently accepted the running backs job at South Alabama, is being targeted to fill the running backs job with the Gophers, CBS Sports shares.

North Carolina: Brian Belichick, who spent the last nine seasons with the Patriots and the last five coaching the safeties, is joining the staff as safeties coach, per multiple outlets.

Washington State: The program has announced the hire of North Central (D-III - IL) defensive graduate assistant Matt Lenti as a defensive graduate assistant and the promotion of defensive student assistant Owen Baebler to offensive graduate assistant.

New Orleans Saints: With the Super Bowl now in the books, offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is expected to accept the head coaching job leading the Saints.

LA Rams: Scott Huff, who spent last season as the offensive line coach for the Seahawks and was the offensive line coach at Washington under Kalen DeBoer, is joining the staff as tight ends coach, per NFL Network. He replaces Nick Caley, who left to become the offensive coordinator for the Texans.
