Anna Maria College (D-III - MA): Anna Maria College, located in Paxton, MA, has one graduate assistant position open (Defensive Backs or Linebackers). The position will be responsible for coaching their own position group, managing a recruiting territory, film editing/breakdown (HUDL), and all other duties assigned by the head football coach. The position will include a $4,500 stipend, meals, two Graduate Classes per semester, and on-campus housing. NO BENEFITS. "Elongating the Shelf": Minnesota's Two-Surface Tight Zone from Extra OL Personnel Groupings: You don’t want to tell Minnesota running back Mo Ibrahim how to run the football, he racked up another 1,600 this season, but Run Game Coordinator Brian Callahan does spend time teaching his backs to understand the most common defensive fit patterns in the Big 10 against the tight zone--cornerstone of UM’s run game. This is particularly true when the Gophers use its “Elephant” personnel grouping, which consists of six and seven offensive linemen across the line of scrimmage. The benefit of the extended surface backside creates a multitude of entry points for the back and pushes the read key (or what Coach Callahan calls the “shelf defender”) wider. X&O Labs talked exclusively with Coach Callahan on how he teaches the back to understand the most common fit patterns used against this personnel grouping that the Gophers used on over 32% of snaps a season ago.
