Ball Tonight: The Buckeyes and Longhorns square off tonight (7:30pm EST on ESPN) in the College Football Semis before a week full of NFL playoff action begins.

San Francisco 49ers: While Kyle Shanahan shared recently that he would elevated Klay Kubiak to offensive coordinator, NFL don't permit that to happen without an open search, so the Niners will have to comply with that rule and do a search, Jonathan Jones points out.

Tennessee Titans: Per Jonathan Jones, Packers VP of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan has received an interview request for the GM position. He will also interview for the same post with the Jets.

Arkansas: Seattle Seahawks defensive assistant Nick Perry is expected to join Sam Pittman's staff working with the defensive backs 247 sports has shared. 

Siena Heights (NAIA - MI): Per source, Jacob Dopsovic has left his post as the offensive line coach at Central State (D-II - OH), and has accepted the offensive coordinator / offensive line job with the Saints.

Tusculum (D-II - TN): Tusculum University is looking to fill an offensive skill coaching position. This is a full time position with benefits.College coaching experience is preferred. All inquiries and resumes can be sent to head coach Billy Taylor at btaylor@tusculum.edu.

Coastal Carolina: Jeremiah Johnson, who coordinated the top defense in Conference USA last fall, is expected to be the new defensive coordinator for the Chanticleers, per CBS Sports.

Nichols College (D-III - MA): Nichols is looking to hire a full-time defensive coordinator position, coaching whichever position best fits the applicant. Charleston Southern (FCS): Landon Martin, who previously served as the offensive line coach at Battle Ground Academy (TN) and Newberry College (D-II - SC) has accepted the offensive line job, per source.

Minnesota West (JC): Minnesota West is seeking 1 Offensive Assistant Coach and 2 Defensive Assistant Coaches. All experience will be considered. These are stipend positions, with job possibilities within the college and the community. The position responsibilities include coaching a position, recruiting, assisting with video, and duties as assigned. Review of applicants will begin immediately. Miami Dolphins: The team has parted ways with special teams coordinator Danny Crossman and receivers coach Wes Welker. 

UCF: Former Rice special teams coordinator Pete Alamar has now officially been named special teams coordinator at UCF. 

New England: The Patriots have interviewed Ben Johnson and Mike Vrabel. 

West Virginia: Rich Rod has announced Gabe Franklin as West Virginia's new safeties coach. Franklin has previously coached at UTEP, Boise State and multiple high schools in Texas and California. 

Avila University (NAIA - MO): Avila is officially accepting applications for a restricted earnings position coaching the Offensive Line. Though the position does not include benefits or grad school, there is potential for housing and meals. Salary is around $15,000. Preferred candidates will have prior experience playing/coaching the Offensive line position. This position will be responsible for coaching the offensive line on the field, position meetings, special teams duties, as well as all things that go along with coaching; recruiting; organize official and unofficial visits; assist with practice, game preparations, and planning of travel itineraries; assist the head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring, fundraising, game management and scheduling and any other duties assigned by the Head Coach or offensive Coordinator. Arkansas State: ASU is looking to hire an entry level coaching position for an Asst RB Coach. It will be a perfect fit for a young coach that wants to break into the college coaching profession. Will report to the RB coach and OC. Job responsibilities would include but are not limited to film breakdown, helping with all aspects of recruiting, assisting with game preparation and assisting with a position group. This is an unpaid position, which can lead to a paid position. Applicants should be proficient in Catapult video software, Microsoft Office, Google Docs as well as other basic technology devices. Michigan State: Sources tell FootballScoop Jonathan Smith is promoting Aaron Pflugrad from senior offensive analyst to passing game coordinator. Before joining Michigan State's staff prior to the '24 season, Pflu had served as assistant head coach / offensive coordinator at Northern Arizona six seasons. 

Colorado State: Allen Brown has now officially been announced as corners coach. AB was on staff at Wazzu last season. 

Kennesaw State: Alabama State defensive backs coach James Williams has now officially joined the Kennesaw State staff as corners coach. 

Tennessee Titans: The team has completed a GM interview with Dolphins senior personnel executive Reggie McKenzie.

Arkansas State: Sources tell FootballScoop Butch Jones and Arkansas State are set to have one of the youngest coordinators in college football.

Minnesota Morris (D-III): Minnesota Morris is seeking an Offensive Assistant Coach position. All experience will be considered. This is a 9-month position with an $8,500 salary, housing with some meals included. This position includes an option to become benefits eligible by working 20 hours a week ($21.69 per hour) with Sodexo on campus. The position responsibilities include coaching a position, recruiting, assisting with video, and duties as assigned. Review of applicants will begin immediately. New Orleans Saints: Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn has completed his virtual interview.

New York Jets: The Jets are interviewing a Big Ten head coach today, and not one you're thinking of

Robert Saleh: The former Jets head coach will interview for the head coaching positions with the Jaguars (Tuesday) and the Raiders (Thursday) per Ian Rapoport. 

American International (D-II - MA): Dan Chipka, who had been serving as the team's interim head coach since late May, has been named the full-time head football coach. Chipka led the team to a 4-7 season this past fall as interim.

Dickinson (D-III - PA): Jack Mrozinski has accepted the defensive coordinator job. He spent the past four seasons as the head coach at Hiram (D-III - OH).

Dallas Cowboys: Following several days of discussions, Jerry Jones and head coach Mike McCarthy remain open to moving forward together in Dallas and the two sides are expected to open talks today on a deal to keep him in Dallas, per Tom Pelissero.

Wagner (FCS - NY): Sources tell FootballScoop defensive coordinator Derek Getchell is stepping down from his post for a high school position. The moves comes after the Wagner defense had one of their best statistical seasons in some time. 

New England Patriots: Recapping where the Patriots interview process stands in their search for a new head coach. Per multiple reports, Lions OC Ben Johnson will interview today and the team has announced completed interviews with Pep Hamilton and Byron Leftwich, while Mike Reiss shares that Mike Vrabel's interview recently took place in Boston. 

Las Vegas Raiders: Jonathan Jones shares that in addition to Tom Brady having a significant voice in the team's head coaching search, the team has also contact Jed Hughes of Korn Ferry for their head coach and GM search.

Miami: Hawaii GM Keiki Misipeka is expected to join Mario Cristobal's staff, per CBS Sports. He will work in personnel / NIL engagement, per multiple reports.

Cleveland Browns: Assistant coach Callie Brownson is leaving the organization to join USA Football where she will help lead operations for USA's National Flag Football Teams.

Norfolk State (FCS - VA): The Apprentice School (D-III - VA) assistant head coach / offensive coordinator Elton Brown has now officially joined Michael Vick's staff as offensive line coach.

Vikings vs. Rams: After consulting with public officials, the NFL has decided to move Monday's Wild Card matchup between the Rams and Vikings has been moved from SoFi Stadium to the Cardinals State Farm Stadium as widlfires continue to surge in the LA area.

Tennessee Titans: The team has lined up their GM interviews for the next several days as follows, per Albert Breer. Today is Reggie McKenzie (Dolphins senior personnel exec), Thomas Dimitroff (former Falcons GM), and John Spytek (Bucs assistant GM). Tomorrow will be Ed Dodds (Colts assistant GM), Matt Berry (Seahawks senior director of player personnel), Terrance Gray (Bills director of player personnel) and Cat Hickman (Browns assistant GM), and Sunday they'll interview Mike Borgonzi (Chiefs assistant GM) and Ian Cunningham (Bears assistant GM).

Coastal Carolina: Former player Trey Carter has joined the program as an offensive analyst.

Sam Houston State: Former NC State co-defensive coordinator / nickels / safeties coach Freddie Aughtry-Lindsay is expected to be Phil Longo's defensive coordinator, per CBS Sports.

Penn State: After their loss to Notre Dame last night, Zach asks "What now, Penn State?"

Averett (D-III - VA): Averett University Football is currently seeking a Full Time Coach. All Positions will be considered, looking for best fit. Possible Defensive Coordinator or Special Teams Coordinator possible. Minimum qualifications include Bachelor’s degree and successful coaching, playing, and/or teaching experience. Valdosta State (D-II - GA): An update at Valdosta State, where the candidate pool includes one intriguing option that makes sense for a multitude of reasons.

Wroclaw Panthers (ELF): The Panthers Wroclaw of the European Football League are seeking candidates for position coaches. The Panthers have a long history of championships and play in the East Division of the ELF. The following positions are encouraged to apply: defensive backs, defensive line, and wide receivers. An ideal candidate must have previous experience coaching and a working knowledge of HUDL and VISIO. The positions are 6 month contracts. The positions coaches will receive flight transportation to and from Wroclaw, salary, paid taxes, healthcare insurance, free public transport, team catering, furnished apartment including all amenities and gameday clothes. Lincoln (D-II - MO): Lincoln University is looking to fill 1 Assistant Coach position on Defense who will oversee a position in conjunction with work in the residence halls. Responsibilities include player academics, recruitment, and compliance with rules. Collaboration with campus departments is key, as well as engaging with various groups. In addition to coaching duties, the Assistant Coach will serve as a Residence Hall Director, overseeing a dorm hall, and will receive free housing in the dorms. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications include coaching experience and proficiency in Hudl and Microsoft Office. A bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for a Master's. Austin Peay (FCS - TN): Austin Peay's new defensive coordinator is a sitting DC within the state borders, sources tell FootballScoop.

Knox (D-III - IL): Knox College has an immediate opening for an assistant coach. Best candidate regardless of position. No benefits or housing, some meals. Restricted earnings with salary range 18K - 22K based on experience. Successful candidate holds a bachelor's degree, has at least playing experience at the collegiate level with a strong work ethic, communication skills and ability to multitask. Pete Carroll: Adam Schefter shares that the former Seahawks head coach, who met with the Bears about their head coaching vacancy, will interview with the Raiders for their head coaching job next week.

Chicago Bears: The team has completed their interview with Giants quarterbacks coach Mike Kafka for their head coaching job.

Play-Calling Head Coaches: Both head coaches in Friday's Cotton Bowl started out calling their own plays. Only one still does. Steve Sarkisian and Ryan Day explained how and why they arrived at opposite conclusions to the same situation.

Georgia State: The Panthers program is undergoing a coordinator change with Hue Jackson stepping in for Jim Chaney. Details here.

Valley City State (NAIA - ND): Valley City State University has an opening for a full-time assistant coaching position. QB or OL experience is required. Responsibilities include assisting in practice preparation, game day duties, film, recruiting along with any duties assigned by the OC and/or head coach. Compensation is $32,000 including fringe benefit package with employer paid full family coverage for health insurance, NDPERS retirement, and tuition waiver benefits. Kennesaw State: Will Paruta, the former defensive coordinator at Mississippi College (D-II), is the new linebackers coach for the Owls.

UNLV: Dan Mullen has completed his primary support staff with the addition of Jonathan Herd-Bond as the program's new director of player personnel. He spent the past two seasons in the same position at Charlotte, and was at Michigan as assistant recruiting coordinator during the 2022 season after a season with Mullen on staff at Florida. Also, Jon Clark is the team's new director of football operations. He spent the past two seasons as assistant AD / chief of staff at South Alabama.

Bill Belichick: North Carolina GM Mike Lombardi responded to the reports of multiple NFL teams gauging the veteran coach's return to the NFL.

Averett (D-III - VA): Averett University Football is currently seeking 2 GA’s, 1 Offense and 1 Defense, all positions will be considered. Start time can be immediate. College Football Playoff: Every team left in the College Football Playoff Field has at least one former head coach from a power conference.

Lincoln (D-II - MO): Lincoln University is looking to hire a defensive graduate assistant. Candidates must meet the admission requirements of Lincoln University’s Master of Arts in Higher Education (HBCU concentration) Graduate Studies Program. Responsibilities include assisting with a defensive or offensive position group, film breakdown, data entry, helping with recruiting and operations, assisting with game preparation and scouting reports, and any other duties assigned by Head Coach. Prefer applicants to have experience with HUDL and Graphic Design. Compensation includes full tuition and fees, with possible room and board. Kentucky Christian (NAIA): Kentucky Christian University is looking to fill two full time defensive positions with one of the positions as the defensive coordinator. Arizona: Back when Mario Cristobal parted ways with defensive coordinator Lance Guidry at Miami, we shared that at least one more coach would also be leaving the 'Canes. Today, the school has announced that Miami defensive line coach / associate head coach Joe Salave'a is joining the staff. He replaces Joe Seumalo.

Norfolk State (FCS - VA): Per source, Florida Memorial (NAIA) defensive coordinator Terence Garvin and Florida Memorial (NAIA) defensive backs coach Jabo Smith are expected to join the Norfolk State staff in the same capacities.
