Nebraska: University of Nebraska is accepting applications for VOLUNTEER strength and conditioning interns to contribute to the Football Strength & Conditioning Program for Winter 2024. This is an UNPAID opportunity that provides experience assisting the Strength and Conditioning staff, and Sports Science staff. Assist with the implementation of comprehensive, sport-specific, injury prevention and performance enhancement training programs. In addition to daily responsibilities, this internship includes a professional development curriculum built on the foundation of the Nebraska Football Strength & Conditioning philosophies. This curriculum includes education of functional strength training techniques, coaching development, sport-specific conditioning concepts, sport science technologies and applications, professional development presentations, programming, weight room management/logistics, in addition to injury prevention, rehabilitation and return to play processes. The goal of this internship is to develop highly effective strength and conditioning coaches with the potential to transition into a paid position with Nebraska, another university, or professional organization. This internship is expected to begin as early as January 16th and last until April 30th. Prospective candidates must possess a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional or performance coach, strong character, and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related course of study in addition to current CPR/AED certification and possess or be in current pursuit of SCCC or CSCS certifications. Florida State: The Seminole football program seeks to hire a Winter intern. This internship is designed for you to develop the needed experience and skillset to make you a strong candidate in taking the next step in your coaching career- this typically being a graduate assistant position. This internship is intended for those whose #1 goal is to become a Strength & Conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Qualifications: In pursuit of or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in an exercise science related field. Experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting. If not already certified you will be expected to begin your certification process towards your CSCS, SCCC, and/or USAW during your internship. Compensation: This is an unpaid position with no housing or meal assistance. Internship credit hours can be obtained along with expanding your professional network and references. Washington:The University of Washington Football S&C department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for Winter 2024. Completing this internship provides valuable Power 5 Division 1 Football S&C experience as well as the potential for an earned recommendation from our staff. A number of our former interns have used this experience to propel themselves into very successful careers in S&C. You will be hands-on working with our athletes, participating in a 6 week curriculum, and completing lectures/assignments/labs that will prepare you to be a better Strength & Conditioning Coach. Additionally, our internship counts toward the CSCCA practicum experience requirement. Successful applicants should have a strong work ethic and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional.
