Cumberland (NAIA - TN): Cumberland University is looking to hire two Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistants. Cumberland University is located in Tennessee, 30 minutes east of Nashville. Responsibilities will include: design and implementation of training programs for assigned sports, assist with football training, and other weight room duties. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or a related field, be CPR/AED certified, and have a strong desire to pursue a career as a Strength & Conditioning coach. Compensation includes full tuition waiver, housing, and a meal plan. Preference will be given to candidates who are certified with their CSCS, SCCC or USAW. Start date will be Summer/Fall of 2023. Rice: The Rice University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for VOLUNTEER coaches for the Summer 2023 Semester. The internship is scheduled to begin Monday, May 29th and will run through Friday, July 29th. This is an unpaid position; however, the position does come with a university sponsored meal plan as well as paid parking. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the daily implementation of pre-season training for Rice Football, set-up and breakdown of daily training sessions, routine maintenance, cleaning and organization of the training facility, as well as participation in a vigorous internship curriculum. This position also offers a unique opportunity to gain knowledge in performance technology and data collection through the use of GPS tracking, force plate monitoring and functional movement screening. Prerequisites include, CPR/AED Certification, as well as completion of, or working towards, a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. The goal of this internship is to prepare and help place individuals into paid roles in the field of strength and conditioning. West Texas A&M (D-II): West Texas A&M Graduate Assistant Athletic Performance Coach West Texas A&M University is a NCAA Division II Institution competing in the Lone Star Conference. WT is located in Canyon, TX 15 minutes from Amarillo. Position Description: Assist Athletic Performance Staff with supervision and implementation of performance enhancing programs for 14 varsity teams. This position will be responsible for design and implementation of strength, power, speed, agility and conditioning programs for teams as assigned by the Deputy AD/Director of Athletic Performance. Assist with the implementation of programs for other teams not in direct supervision of including football, baseball and track & field. Work in conjunction with the Sports Medicine staff to rehabilitate injuries and implement injury prevention protocols. Other day to day duties include supervising student interns, communication with sport coaches, as well as maintenance and upkeep of the weight room. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field required. SCCC or CSCS certification and CPR required (SCCC will be completed and paid for year one if not completed.) USAW certification and previous collegiate athletic experience preferred. Experience with various Olympic sports preferred.
