Tennessee Tech: Tennessee Tech University’s Athletic Performance Department is seeking qualified applicants for one Strength and Conditioning graduate assistant effective August 2024. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, design and implementation of sport-specific strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams, demonstration and instruction of lifting techniques, supervision of team and individual workouts, and assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the Athletic Performance Center. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field; CPR, AED, and First- Aid certifications; and nationally-recognized certification (NSCA-CSCS or CSCCa-SCCC preferred). Preferred qualifications include at least one year of experience as a strength and conditioning coach/high-level intern and experience working with football, soccer, and softball student-athletes. Position includes educational benefits in a master’s degree program along with a 1,000 monthly stipend during the academic year. Sam Houston State: Kevin Schadt, who spent the past six seasons as the director of strength and conditioning at UTEP, has been named the new head strength coach of the Bearkats.
Indiana: The Indiana University Football Athletic Performance Department is accepting applications for VOLUNTEER intern positions for the SUMMER 2024 semester (Exact Dates TBD). These are UNPAID positions. The ideal candidate should be seeking a career as a strength and conditioning coach. Candidates will be exposed to all facets of an NCAA Division 1 FBS football strength and conditioning program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: hands on experience assisting with the daily operations of the weight room, assisting with athlete nutrition and performance monitoring, completing the educational curriculum, and facility/equipment maintenance. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, strong work ethic, great sense of urgency, high level of attention to detail, a desire to learn, and the ability to build relationships with our staff and student-athletes. Candidates should be actively pursuing certification from the NSCA and/or CSCCa. Interns will receive instruction in – and be required to comply with – NCAA regulations and policies.
