New Haven (D-II - CT): The University of New Haven Department of Sports Performance is seeking qualified applicants for a Graduate Assistant position. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: Design and implementation of sport specific strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams, demonstration, and instruction of Olympic weightlifting techniques, supervise team training, individual training, and open hours. Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the new Peterson Performance Center and assist and implement daily operations of sports science initiatives related to data collection and analysis. Indiana: The Indiana University Football Athletic Performance Department is accepting applications for VOLUNTEER intern positions for the SUMMER 2024 semester (May 17 – July 25). These are UNPAID positions. The ideal candidate should be seeking a career as a strength and conditioning coach. Candidates will be exposed to all facets of an NCAA Division 1 FBS football strength and conditioning program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: hands on experience assisting with the daily operations of the weight room, assisting with athlete nutrition and performance monitoring, completing the educational curriculum, and facility/equipment maintenance. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, strong work ethic, great sense of urgency, high level of attention to detail, a desire to learn, and the ability to build relationships with our staff and student-athletes. Baker (NAIA - KS): The Baker University Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking to fill ONE Graduate Assistant position. The position will report directly to the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with all sports including football and the opportunity to lead 2-4 teams to be determined upon hire. Hours will vary and will include early mornings and late evenings. UConn: The University of Connecticut Football Strength and Conditioning program seeks to hire two or more interns for Summer 2024. The goal of our program is to provide an encompassing view of collegiate strength and conditioning, including programming, exercise technique and facility upkeep. The internship will include set up and take down of the weight room, daily cleaning and maintenance, completion of a comprehensive educational curriculum, hands on experience, and any other duties as assigned by the strength and conditioning staff. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Qualifications: In pursuit of, or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting, as a coach or athlete. Candidates must be CPR/AED certified and possess, or currently working towards their certification through the USAW, NSCA, or CSCCa. West Virginia: Baseball Strength and Conditioning program is seeking candidates for the 2024 fall internship program. Interns will participate in a program tailored to prepare them for the demands of the collegiate strength and conditioning profession, including educational and practical experience. This internship will focus primarily on assisting the baseball team, while also having the opportunity to work with additional Olympic sports teams when able. Interns will learn the fundamentals of programming for the task specific needs of baseball & other Olympic sports, in addition to gaining valuable exposure and hands-on experience with sports science technology. This is an UNPAID internship opportunity that will provide Division I coaching experience, educational knowledge, and networking possibilities. This internship is a CSCCa approved internship and successful interns will have the opportunities to sit for the CSCC certification in May. This internship is a NSCA Foundation Assistantship approved site. The successful applicant will be a highly motivated self-starter, possess great work ethic, show a strong interest in baseball, and have a solid character. This internship will begin in August and finish in December 2024. Required qualifications: Desire to be a collegiate strength and conditioning coach, specifically with an interest in baseball S&C. Previous demonstration of hard work and character. Currently majoring in exercise science or related field. Recommended qualifications: Achievement of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field. The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will play a vital role in the design and implementation of the Strength and Conditioning programs of the assigned sports.
