Washington: The UW Football S&C department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for Summer 1 2024. Completing this internship provides valuable Power 5 Division 1 Football S&C experience as well as the potential for an earned recommendation from our staff. A number of our former interns have used this experience to propel themselves into very successful careers in S&C. You will be hands-on working with our athletes, participating in a 5 week curriculum, and completing assignments, labs, and lectures that will prepare you to be a better Strength & Conditioning Coach. Additionally, our internship counts toward the CSCCA practicum experience requirement. Successful applicants should have a strong work ethic and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Kentucky: The University of Kentucky Football Performance department is accepting applications for UNPAID/VOLUNTEER Strength and Conditioning interns (2) for the Summer/Fall (May 29th, 2024 start date). Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength and speed training programs specific to power/speed athletes, proper movement preparation, execution of proper motivational techniques, and most importantly developing an understanding of the health, safety, and wellness of collegiate athletes. Applicants must be highly self-motivated, enthusiastic, possess excellent communication skills, and have an extremely strong work ethic. Minimum qualifications: Currently pursuing Bachelors/Masters degree, certified in CPR/AED/First Aid, ability to adapt to a demanding schedule and work in a fast-paced environment, a strong desire to become a Strength and Conditioning Coach; CSCS or SCCC, and experience with intercollegiate athletics preferred. This position will provide interns with valuable practical experience, networking and professional development opportunities, and college credit, if applicable. Menlo (D-II - CA): The Menlo College Sports Performance Department is seeking to fill ONE Graduate Assistant position. The masterβs Program will be in Master of Arts in Sport and Performance Psychology (MASPP). The position will report directly to the Director of Sports Performance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, assisting with all sports and the opportunity to lead 2-3 teams to be determined upon hire. Hours will vary and will include early mornings and late evenings but will work around class schedule. Other responsibilities include: daily maintenance and upkeep of facility, GA curriculum, etc. Candidates will receive a 50% tuition waiver, covered on-campus housing, lunch will be included, gear, the Opportunity to learn how to use force plates, VBT, valuable networking and hands-on experience with qualified experienced Sports Performance Coaches. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold a BA/BS in Kinesiology or Exercise Science related field. CPR, First Aid and AED certification required. Preferred Qualifications: Certification as a Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCCa, CSCS, or USAW) or must be able to obtain within six months of hire. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, positive energy, attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and a willingness to learn a system. Start date is Aug 5th 2024.
