Florida State: The Seminoles football program seeks to hire a summer intern. The goal of our program is to provide an encompassing view of collegiate strength and conditioning, including programming, exercise technique and facility upkeep. The internship position is geared primarily towards Football, but the intern will in addition gain exposure to a diverse array of 15 Sports in a high paced environment. As an intern in the Florida State Athletic Development program you will have the opportunity to gain on the floor coaching experience, under the bar training in the program, exposure to our sports science department and areas of expertise from our nutritional staff. Aside from the daily duties required of the position there will be assigned readings and projects to further develop your knowledge base. This internship is designed for you to develop the needed experience and skillset to make you a strong candidate in taking the next step in your coaching career- this typically being a graduate assistant position. This internship is intended for those whose #1 goal is to become a Strength & Conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Qualifications: In pursuit of or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in an exercise science related field. Experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting. If not already certified you will be expected to begin your certification process towards your CSCS, SCCC, and/or USAW during your internship. Fordham (FCS): Fordham University Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for 3-5 Volunteer Strength and Conditioning Interns for SUMMER 2020. The internship will last from May 26 2020 – July 30 2020. Interns will gain practical experience working and coaching in a Division 1 S&C environment with 22 Varsity sports, possible future recommendations, and college credit if applicable. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; attributes including hardworking, passionate, detail orientated, and has the desire to work in the strength & conditioning field. Preferred qualifications include certifications from highly regarded governing bodies (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous intern/coaching experience, and current/previous competitive sport involvement. Applicants should either be working towards or hold a BS/MS in Exercise Science/Kinesiology, or similar field. Certain qualified candidates will have an opportunity to sit for the SCCC/CSCCa exam in May 2021. Responsibilities will include: Daily maintenance of the facility and all its equipment, setup and break down of weight room and field for all training sessions, daily athlete tracking, and assisting in the coaching of those sessions. Interns will also learn and assist with velocity-based training technology. This program will also consist of weekly educational projects/readings and reports to further develop S&C knowledge and coaching ability. Ability to work early mornings is necessary. This is an UNPAID position. No monetary compensation, meals, or housing will be provided. Gardner-Webb: Gardner-Webb University is seeking a strength and conditioning graduate assistant. This position will be responsible for assisting the Director of Strength and Conditioning for Football as well other sport team assignments. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can add value to our department and make others better. Compensation is offered in the form of tuition waiver, monthly stipend and University meal plan. Applicant Must gain acceptance into graduate school at Gardner-Webb University before starting the position. Start date will be scheduled for August 1 2020. Youngstown State: Youngstown State University is seeking to fill one Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning position that will begin in the fall of 2020. The position will assist with football and direct Olympic teams as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Responsibilities include: Design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams, communication with sport coaches and athletic trainers, weight room supervision, restocking nutrition supplementation, set up and breakdown of workouts and other duties as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. All candidates MUST have a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or health related field. Applicants must be CPR, AED and First Aid certified, and must be certified through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC) or National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS). Preference will be given to applicants who have experience interning and coaching in the collegiate setting. Compensation includes a full tuition waiver for graduate credit hours and a bi-weekly stipend.
